Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘YouTube Wednesday’ we’re going to discuss Wotso Videos, a very cool YouTube channel that you DEFINTELY need in your life. If you love pop culture, Disney, and numerous other fun topic then this is the channel you need to be subscribed to right now. I’m serious, take a moment and subscribe to this channel right now I’ll wait right here for you. Have you already subscribed? Good! If you still need convincing then please read on. Ready? Ok, let’s go!!!
The first video that we’re going to discuss is Wotso’s ‘How did Gill get his scar video’, which was posted on June 29th, 2016. This video is apart of Wotso’s ‘Discovering Disney’ series, and explains his theory as to why Gill from ‘Finding Nemo’ has a scar. The video is not only entertaining and fun, but also very factual and thought provoking (without making you feel llike you’re back in school). If you love Disney theories (and honestly who doesn’t love ANYTHING related to Disney) then you’ll want to check out the many other videos in this series. The next video that we’re going to discuss is Wotso’s ‘ Ariel Ruled Cindrella’s Kingdom’, which was uploaded on November 15th, 2016 (you can check out this video below). This video discusses the theory that Ariel is Cinderella’s mother-in-law. When I first saw the title of this video, it intantly intrigued me because how cool would it be if these two Disney princesses were actually connected. Although I won’t spoil the video for you, I will say that Wotso brings up some very interesting points in this video, that will really make you question how the other Disney princesses might be connected. Maybe we just don’t know that mouse as well as we thought we did.
Next up we have Wotso’s ‘How Magic Works in Harry Potter! Why Are Spells Spoken And When Do Wizards Need Wands’, which was uploaded on November 22nd, 2016. THis is another entertaining and well thought out video that all Harry Potter fans will fall in love with. Honestly I never really thought abiout the fact that some magical beings say spells and use wands, while others use a wand but perform spells non-verbally, and others don’t use either tool. As any Harry Potter fan knows, J.K. Rowling has always been very detailed with her work so I honestly believe that this video touches upon a lot of info that J.K. must have considered while writing her books. Eithier way this is a fun video for all of us muggles who are dying for another taste of the wizarding world. The last video that we’re going to discuss is Wotso’s ‘Belle Has Stockholm Syndrome?’ video, which was uploaded on March 14th, 2017 (you can check out the video below). This video touches upon a infamous question that has floated around the internet for YEARS. Again I’m not going to spoil the video by revealing Wotso’s position on the question, however I will say that he does a very good job of explaining his position and has definitely convinced me that he’s correct. If you want an answer to the ‘Beauty and The Beast’ question that is as old as time, then definitely check out this video right away!
Keep up with everything Wotso Videos is doing here:
Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘Monday Memos’ we’re going to talk about a topic that has sent the internet into a frenzy this past week. If you loved the ‘Harry Potter’ books then get your wands ready because we’re going back to the wizarding world. Now for most of us ‘Harry Potter’ mania has never fully gone away, and has continued to live on in the form of theme parks, fanfiction/fanart, and so much more. In October of 2015 we were told that the ‘Harry Potter’ universe would continue in the form of a stage play which would open at the Palace Theater in London, England on July 30th, 2016. Now needless to say, a lot of fans were upset because unfortunately not all of us can travel to London just to see a Harry Potter play (no matter how awesome that would be!). Luckily on February 10th of this year, it was announced that the play’s script would be available in book form on July 31st, 2016 (aka Harry Potter’s birthday) in both print and digital download. So now I know y’all are all super excited right? Right! So let’s jump into the plot of the play. Ready? Ok, let’s go!!!
So far we know that this story will take place during the time of the epilogue of the final book/movie (or 19 years after the final battle when Harry, Hermione, and Ron are 17). In this play we will see Harry as an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, who has to deal with the effects his past has on his new life. We have been told that we will also get to learn more about Harry’s parents, “an untold piece of Harry’s story” (which I’m guessing is either his life before the 1st book, or in between where the 8th book ends and this story begins). The story will also revolve around Harry’s son Albus, who is beginning his 1st year at Hogwarts, and will have to deal with the weight and expectations that come with his family’s legacy. Needless to say this book has already reached the #1 spot for pre-ordered books on Amazon, and will definitely do very well when it’s released. So what do you think people of the internet? Are you excited to learn more about Harry and his friend’s/family’s lives? Let me know what you think in the comments below!

Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘Monday Memos’ we’re going to talk about a new show that we’re all going to want to check out on Netflix. If you have ever read the novel ‘Thirteen Reasons Why’ by Jay Asher then prepared to get really excited! In 2011 Universal Pictures purchased the rights to make ‘Thirteen Reasons Why’ into a film starring Selena Gomez. On October 29th (of 2015) it was announced that this book would instead be made into a 13 episode miniseries that will be executive produced by Selena Gomez, her mother Mandy Teefey, and Kristel Laiblin (who has also served as a producer for films such as The Man with the Iron Fists, In Time, and Children of Men). I’m not 100% sure if Selena will still star as the lead character Hannah Baker, but I’m sure we’ll find out soon so I’m excited to find out. Personally I am a HUGE fan of this book, so I’m excited to see this miniseries. This is the latest book to get a film/TV release, following other Young Adult novels such as: Harry Potter, Twilight, The Hunger Games, The Divergent Trilogy, The Fault in our Stars, and the TV show Eye Candy, among many others. It’s really cool to see our favorite stories get a breath of fresh air by coming to life on the big and small screen, and I’m really excited to see which of our favorite novels will be added to this list next. So now let’s discuss the plot a little bit (and don’t worry there won’t be any huge spoilers).
The story revolves around the aftermath of the suicide of a high school girl named Hannah Baker. We follow the story through the eyes of a shy guy named Clay Jensen who is surprised to find a box of 7 cassette tapes from an anonymous person. He listens to the tapes and finds out that Hannah is narrating the tapes. On these tapes she explains that there are 12 people & 13 reasons that are responsible for her committing suicide. She says that each of the 12 people must pass the tapes along to the next person, otherwise someone else will release a second set of the tapes to everyone at their school. This is definitely a really interesting story that will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions. The book ends with giving the audience a lot of really good life lessons, but do so in a very realistic non-preachy way. I am so excited that this book is getting more attention, and I am interested to see where Netflix takes this story.
Hello people of the internet, on today’s ‘Monday Memos’, we are going to discuss what happened on the ‘Golden Globes’ this past Sunday (January 12, 2014). This show kicks off award season, and honors excellence in TV, mini-series, and TV movies. So are y’all ready!?! Well then let’s begin!
Opening Monologue: The hilarious comedy duo of Amy Poehler and Tina Fey once again hosted the show this year, and the two definitely made the show fun to watch. The two started their monologue by making fun of their own hosting skills with their comment that “in Hollywood, if something kind of works, then they keep doing it until you get sick of it”. They then began making fun of a lot of the celebrities that were in attendance such as: Bradley Cooper, Meryl Streep, Matt Damon (who they also made fun of later, when actress Melissa McCarthy presented an award, but supposedly got amnesia backstage, and now believed that she was Matt Damon), and numerous others. Amy and Tina also had a running joke with veteran actress Julia Louise-Dreyfus (who at first pretended to be “too good” to sit in the TV section of the auditorium due to Julia’s first Golden Globe film nomination, and then she later sat in the TV section, and Tina and Amy made fun of her). Finally, Tina and Amy made fun of George Clooney by saying that he “would rather float away in space, then spend time with a woman his age” (in reference to the hit film ‘Gravity’ that George did with Sandra Bullock).

All in all, I believe that the Golden Globes were in a huge success in terms of who won, and which projects came out on top. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler made an unstoppable comedic duo, and I can certainly see them continuing this for many years to come. The show truly displayed those who’s talent, dedication, and hard work soared this year, and it left me excited for next year. I believe that this was an excellent and fun start to the award season!
