YouTube Wednesday: Beautybabe149, the next YouTube beauty/fashion queen has arrived

Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘YouTube Wednesday’ I am going to introduce y’all to another AMAZING beauty/fashion/life style guru that you will become ADDICTED to (you’re welcome!). This amazing YouTuber not only shares her amazing style, hair, and beauty tips, but also does fun DIYs (Do It Yourself Projects), cool beauty/fashion hauls, and gives her fans advice about life and YouTube. So if you’re not already a fan of Erica, aka Beautybabe149, then read on and learn why you are missing out on YouTube’s newest hidden treasure.

Erica is a 17 years old beauty/fashion/life style guru, who as of 7/30/2014 has 348,575 total views on YouTube, 3,146 followers on Instagram,17,811 YouTube subscribers, 64 ‘likes’ on Facebook, and 4,074 followers on Twitter. She uploaded her first video, entitled ‘OOTD: Summer Nights #1’ on June 16th, 2012 (OOTD: Summer Nights #1). The video was a great introduction to Erica’s personality, and even though the video is only 1 minute and 46 seconds long, she is able to put her fun, bubbly personality front and center, which definitely leaves you wanting more videos. Erica is also able to show off her fashion skills by demonstrating a really fun, casual look that many would want to emulate (I know I do). The next video that we are going to discuss is Erica’s March 21st, 2013 ‘Q&A 1’ video (Q&A #1 ♡). In this video, she answers fan questions, such as her ethnicity, where she finds the music for her videos, her favorite candy, and so much more! In the video, Erica also talks about how she grew up watching YouTube, and from the early age of 10 years old would make mock vlogs with a flip cam. She said that her family knew about her videos when she first starts uploaded them, but her friends didn’t find out until Erica made a happy birthday video for fellow beauty/fashion guru Bethany Mota ( on another channel with “random” videos), and Bethany commented on, and liked the video. There are a lot of other cool facts about Erica in this video so I would definitely suggest checking it out. Speaking of cool facts, the next video that we are going to discuss is Erica’s ’50 Facts About Me!’ Tag video (50 Facts About Me! TAG) which she uploaded on April 6th, 2013. In this video, Erica discussed her whether or not she has siblings, how long she’s known one of her Best Friends, what ascents she likes to speak in, and what she loves “more than life itself”. I loved this video because the facts were different than your typical ’50 Facts About Me’ video, and Erica was very entertaining throughout the whole video (this video will make you want to be her best friend). Next up we have Erica’s ‘First Day of School, Hair, Makeup, & Outfit’ (First Day of School: Hair, Makeup, & Outfit | Collab with Piperlanee – YouTube) video, which she uploaded on August 12th, 2013. I chose to discuss this video because I know that back to school season is upon is (boo!!!) BUT…that also means back to school shopping, and picking out the PERFECT first day of school look (YAY!!!…don’t you just love how the universe balances everything out!?!). I really loved this video, because the hair and makeup look were simple and easy to do (perfect for those days when you’re running late because your alarm “didn’t go off”…don’t worry I believe you…really I do). I also loved that the makeup look was just a step above natural looking, so it is perfect for all ages to copy. I will definitely be trying this look, and I guarantee that you will look like a supermodel in those hallways if you do too.

Next we have another vlog, where Erica gives her tips & tricks about getting started on YouTube, (which she uploaded on September 1st, 2013, and you can find here My Tips & Tricks: Getting Started on Youtube! – YouTube). In this video, she discusses her 3 number 1 piece of advice, how to deal with haters, and how to network and promote your channel. I thought that this video was a really cool idea because, it gives useful information for aspiring YouTubers, but does so in a positive, upbeat way that fans will love. The next video we are going to discuss is Erica’s ‘Black Friday Haul 2013’ (Black Friday Haul 2013!!! – YouTube) which was uploaded on November 30th, 2013. Personally I was really excited to see this video because haul videos are my favorite type of fashion YouTube videos. I really loved the deals that Erica got (you have to love a guru who knows the true value of a good sale) and it definitely makes me want to the stores she went to this Black Friday, to see if I can get similar deals. Once again, Erica was funny, and fun to watch in this video, and proved that she is a natural in front of the camera. Ok, next we are going to discuss another video that I was really excited about, which is Erica’s ‘DIY Flower Crown + How I Style Them’ video (DIY Flower Crown + How I Style Them!) which was uploaded on July 20th, 2014. I thought that this was a really cool video because flower crowns are a huge trend right now, and if you can find a way to make your flower crown unique, why wouldn’t you. This is also the perfect project for people who love DIYs, or want to be fashionable on budget. With a small amount of summer left, this is the perfect project to celebrate the rest of this season in style. Ok now we’ve arrived at the last video we are going to discuss in this blog post (even though I could literally talk about every video on this channel). The video we are going to discuss is Erica’s ‘Everyday Makeup Routine Summer Edition’, which was uploaded July 26th, 2014 (Everyday Makeup Routine | Summer Edition) I loved this look, because it was light, but was not too light to use as a nighttime look (for those days when you’re in a rush, or just don’t feel like redoing you makeup…I know how you think people of the internet). The look was also simple to replicate, and the products were a mix of high end and drugstore, so the average viewer can most likely have access to all or some of these products. This is definitely a look that I will be trying this summer. I give this video 5 smiley faces (like I always say, I use smiley faces because they are more fun than stars).  Erica also has a 2nd channel where she vlogs and has lots of other cool videos that y’all will want to check out.

As you can see, Erica has all the ingredients needed to make her into a YouTube Queen. She has a fun, bubbly personality that will instantly make you fall in love with her, she is well spoken and able to articulate very well in her videos, she is knowledgeable about the topics she discusses, and she has a very close relationship with her fans. I definitely see Erica making a career out of her YouTube channel, and joining the YouTube beauty/fashion elite. She is definitely a star on the rise, and someone to keep an eye on. She may be a secret to some YouTube fans now, but with a growing fans base, and the personality and charm to wow any audience; this won’t be the case for long.

Monday Memos: My interview with YOUR newest favorite indie pop band Trapdoor Social!!!

Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘Monday Memos’ I have another exciting interview for y’all. I recently asked Merritt Graves, and Skylar Funk of Trapdoor social some questions about the band’s musical influences, what inspired the sound of their newest EP ‘Science of Love’, and what they want their legacy to be. Whether you’re already COMPLETELY addicted to this rising indie pop band, or you haven’t heard of them but want to know more (you can read this previous blog to learn more about the band Monday Memos: Trapdoor Social. Great Music, Big Hearts | celindareyesblog), then please read on, and remember that their newest EP ‘Science of Love’ is available for purchase on ITunes.

Celinda:  Hi guys! I read that you first formed the band at an environmental event at Pomona College. What initially sparked the idea of starting a band together?

Trapdoor Social: We were both very concerned about sustainability and wanted to make music, so we decided to combine the two into a single project.

Celinda:  Very cool. So what bands or artists have influenced your musical style?

Merritt:  For me it’s been Radiohead, Muse, Tears for Fears, Third Eye Blind and Death Cab for Cutie.

Skylar:  Bon Iver, Jimmy Eat World, Postal Service, Macklemore, Third Eye Blind, Ratatat, Cake, yOya, etc.

Celinda:  Are there any bands or artists that have influenced  you that may be surprising to your fans?

Merritt:  I don’t know about surprising per se, but our influences stretch pretty far apart and it can be interesting to see how we can fuse them.  For example, I really like orchestral stuff, while Skylar likes rap and funk, so all of these interests come together in some unpredictable ways.

Celinda:  That’s really interesting, so what inspired your sound for your latest EP ‘Science of Love’?

Trapdoor Social: We wanted to write a song you could really groove to, after that everything else  just seemed to fall into place, once we had that feel locked in on the chorus.  That’s what often happens on a song,  you get a beat or a melody that you’re compelled by and it informs the next thing which informs the next thing – so on and so on.

Celinda:  Definitely sounds like a really fun process. I know that this next one might be a hard question to answer, but what’s your favorite track on ‘Science of Love’?

Merritt: Science of Love

Skylar: Old Wings

Celinda: I love both those songs too! So, I feel that your music just continues to get better and better, how would you say your music has evolved from ‘Death of a Friend’ to ‘Science of Love’?

Trapdoor Social: Well, we definitely have some more electronic elements but the albums also reflect what we’re feeling and what we care about at the time, and of course some of that changes and some of that stays the same.  For example, on Science of Love we still greatly care about and promote sustainability, but we’ve started thinking more about how sustainability applies to technology – those ideas definitely bleed into how we write lyrics.

Celinda:  That’s really cool; it makes me excited to see what will be discussed on the next project you work on. Now I usually like to ask this question because I find that every artist/band gives me really unique answers, but how do you each prepare for a performance?

Trapdoor Social: We always try to think about the things that really matter to us and freeze everything else out . . . then it’s just you and the music and the people you’re trying to connect to.  Also, It’s not very rock and roll, but we always do a vocal warm-up beforehand, too.

Celinda:  I’m sure your fans appreciate the fact that you’re so mentally and physical prepared when you go on stage, it definitely makes the energy in the room feel different.  Another question that I like to ask artists/bands is what’s one thing that you wished you had known about the music industry before entering it?

Trapdoor Social: We knew it was going to be tough so no surprises there.

Celinda: I love that you guys were prepared, makes the quality of your work so much better. So what would you like your legacy to be?

Merritt: To have always tried our best in the face of adversity.

Skylar: To leave the world better than we found it.

Celinda:  Those are some really amazing answers; with this kind of positivity, I certainly think that you guys will be remembered fondly by your fans. So, is there anything else you’d like to add for your fans, or for people who are just now discovering your music?

Trapdoor Social: Just to stop by and say “hi” on Facebook or Twitter, or come see us on tour this summer!  We love to meet the people who listen to us.

Celinda: Well that’s all for now guys, but thank you for your time and good luck on the rest of your tour!

So as I’m sure you can tell, Trapdoor Social is a band of musicians who love what they do, and love their supporters. If you want to be able to say that you heard of this band first (Hello bragging rights!!!), then please check out their music, and fall in love with their greatness. So if you’re not already supporting them, what are you waiting for! C’mon listen to their EP, check out their social media site, but a ticket to one of their shows, I promise you WON’T regret it (pinky promise ok? Great now it’s official!). I had an image that displays all of Trapdoor Social’s tour dates on the third leg of their current tour, but I couldn’t get the image to appear big and clear enough to read, so I will post the dates on my official Facebook page which you can get to by clicking here: Celindareyesblog | Facebook     Keep in touch with Trapdoor Social: Twitter: Trapdoor Social (TrapdoorSocial) on Twitter YouTube: Trapdoor Social Facebook: Trapdoor Social | Facebook Website: Trapdoor Social

Monday Memos: Trapdoor Social. Great Music, Big Hearts

Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘Monday Memos’ we are going to discuss an INCREDIBLE new band whose member’s heart’s are just as big as their musical talent. Trapdoor Social has made numerous strides in the industry thus far, and is on the verge of becoming YOUR new favorite band. As the wise philosopher Augustus Waters once said, they’re “…on a rollercoaster that only goes up…”. So people of the internet, let’s get started!

Merritt Graves and Skylar Funk of Trapdoor Social met at Pomona College (located in Southern California) during an environmental program. The band introduced themselves as a musical force with the release of their 2012 EP ‘Death Of A Friend’. The EP fused the band’s musical influences into an incredibly strong introduction that alternative rock fans would definitely gravitate towards. ‘Death Of A Friend’ was produced by Curt Schneider, and features Death Cab For Cutie’s drummer Jason McGerr. The EP quickly became a hit due in part to the single ‘Like You Never’ (which received radio play from a number of major market stations around the US). On May 20th, 2014 Trapdoor Social released their latest EP ‘Science of Love’. The EP produced two AMAZING singles entitled ‘Science of Love’ and ‘Angel City’ (you can see a live in-studio version of ‘Angel City’ here:Trapdoor Social – “Angel City” (Live at Bedrock Studios) – YouTube). While working on ‘Science of Love’ (the EP), Trapdoor Social became connected with ‘Homeboy Industries’ (a non-profit that allows former gang members the opportunity to find jobs as they re-enter society). Due to the band’s passion for the environment and music, they agreed to partner with ‘Homeboy Industries’ and generosity donated 100% of proceeds from ‘Science of Love’ towards adding a solar rooftop to the company’s headquarters.

Ok, now that you know Trapdoor Social’s background let’s dive into the music. Ok? Ok! I found the band’s first EP ‘Death of A Friend’ to be a very diverse record. I definitely suggest this EP to all fans of rock music, no matter what your particular tastes within the genre may be. After listening to the EP, I can definitely see why tracks such as, ‘Like You Never’ (which was the single off of this EP, please check out the music video here Like You Never), were such big hits for Trapdoor Social. ‘Like You Never’  has very fun lyrics, and the overall vibe is very comparable to the sound ‘Blink-182’ had in the 90s, fused with Jimmy Eats World (specifically the sound they had on the track ‘Hear Me You’). The album itself also contains songs that will resonate with fans of bands such as: American Authors, Simple Plan, and Metro Station. Basically if you’re a fan of any sub genre of rock, you will LOVE this EP. Next we move on to the band’s latest EP ‘Science of Love’ (you may now say yay…ok, ok let’s get on with the music). I really liked that ‘Science of Love’ showed the band’s growth, but did not completely waver from ‘Death of A Friend’. The EP allowed the band to step a bit out of its’ comfort zone with tracks such as ‘Paper Love’ and ‘Out Alive’ (the two tracks had a very pop feel, similar to Maroon 5 and The Fray), but also keep a familiar vibe with songs like ‘Science of Love’ (the track that shared the same title as the EP). Speaking of the track ‘Science of Love’ (you can find the official music video for this track here: Science Of Love – Offical Music Video), let’s discuss this single a little more. In April of 2014, Trapdoor Social discussed the track ‘Science of Love’ with antimusic.com, and stated that “Often love can bring out the best in us, allowing us to create things we would have never been able to absent the inspiration, but it can also encourage us to be reckless and take risks in its attainment”. This track is a fun, radio friendly song that will DEFINITELY find its’ way onto your music libraries, and keep you dancing all summer. The band’s newest single ‘Angel City’ (you can see a live in-studio version of the track here: Trapdoor Social – “Angel City” (Live at Bedrock Studios) – YouTube), is a very powerful song that will have you singing along in no time. This track really gives the EP a unique identity that makes it instantly recognizable. This makes it a perfect radio song for Trapdoor Social, because fans would instantly recognize this song, and new fans would be intrigued and left wanting to know more.

So are y’all addicted to Trapdoor Social yet!?! You’re welcome! But seriously people of the internet, I do have a question for you. Do you want to be the first to fall in love with a band that will very soon become a household name? Do you want to find new, AMAZING music that will become the soundtrack to all of your favorite summer memories? Don’t you want to support a band that is not only 100% dedicated to their music, but also to the important causes that are near and dear to them? The answer to all of these questions is yes (but I know that you already knew that). So I suggest that you all become very familiar with Trapdoor Social because very soon this powerhouse band will be inescapable.

YouTube Wednesday: Restless Road…the country trio that is about to take your radio by storm!!!

Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘Monday Memos’ we are going to discuss a trio that is quickly making their way to becoming country music superstars. Please allow me to ask y’all a question. When you think of Rascal Flatts, Lady Antebellum, and The Band Perry what comes to mind? Talent, great artistry, amazing vocals, all around awesomeness? Well be prepared to add another INCREDIBLE trio to that list very soon. People of the internet please allow me to introduce Restless Road.

Restless Road began their journey as contestants on season 3 of the X Factor USA. The three original members: Zach Beeken, Colton Pack, and Andrew Scholz originally auditioned as solo artists, but eventually were combined as a group and mentored by Simon Cowell. As they began to compete as a group, Restless Road made it into the ‘Four Chair Challenge’ portion of the competition (which was a section in which the acts competed, and their mentors choose four acts to take into the live shows portion of the show). During the ‘Four Chair Challenge’ of the competition, Restless Road dazzled the judges with their rendition of Keith Urban’s hit ‘Somebody Like You’. This well executed performance propelled them to the live shows. In the live shows, the trio showed off their advanced level of artistry by performing a country version of Katy Perry’s hit track ‘Roar’. Restless Road advanced to the top 12, and treated their fans to their rendition of the beloved song ‘Easy’ by the Commodores (in honor of ‘Motown’ week). Unfortunately due to a graphics error that nullified the votes, Restless Road was forced to sing a different song in the re-vote show. They stayed true to their country roots by choosing the track ‘Don’t You Wanna Stay’ by Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson. The next show had an ’80’s’ theme, so Restless Road decided to incorporate their country roots into the performance by selecting country superstar Blake Shelton version of the 1984 hit ‘Footloose’ ( originally performed by Kenny Loggins, who sang the song for the 1980s classic musical ‘Footloose’). The next challenge the trio took on was ‘British Invasion’ night. Restless Road room on this challenge like pros, and performed a country rendition of Coldplay’s mega hit ‘Fix You’. This choice ended up being a crowd favorite, and definitely proved that Restless Road can handle emotional ballads. Next up was ‘Big Band’ night, in which the trio covered Rascal Flatts’ version of the 1991 Tom Cochrane hit, “Life Is a Highway”. The next competition night was ‘Divas/Unplugged’ night, and the trios choose to perform ‘Red’ by Taylor Swift as their “diva” song. Their ‘unplugged’ song was ‘Wake Me Up’ by Avicii (Restless Road’s version of this track reached #1 on the iTunes country chart). After conquering every test the show threw at them, Restless Roads entered the semi finals, where they performed ‘That’s My Kind of Night’ by Luke Bryan (which the public chose), and ‘Wanted’ by Hunter Hayes (which the trio chose). Unfortunately Restless Road was eliminated the next night and finished 4th in the competition (but considering all of the thousands of people they had to beat out, and the fact that they were not a trio before the competition, finishing 4th is pretty impressive!).

On February 25th, 2014, Restless Road uploaded their first YouTube video since Colton’s departure. The video was a cover of Keith Urban’s hit song ‘Cop Car’ (Restless Road Cop Car), off of his latest album ‘Fuse’. I really enjoyed this cover because it allowed fans to see how much Zach and Andrew grew vocally, since there time on The X Factor ended. I also liked that they didn’t perform any harmonies on this track, because you were really able to hear how strong their vocals are individually, and this excited me for how amazing they will now sound together. All in all, they performed an excellent rendition of a very difficult song (because Keith Urban is AMAZING!), and thus proved that they are ready to compete in mainstream country music. On May 28th, 2014 Restless Road uploaded their version of One Direction’s latest hit ‘You & I'(Restless Road You & I), with new group member Jared Keim. I have to say that this is definitely one of my favorite Restless Road covers ever, because it really demonstrates how far the trio has come. In this song all 3 guys proved that they are talented vocalist (and Jared proved that he is an AMAZING guitarist), and have the potential and meticulous hard work to only get better and better. I really loved the chemistry that the three members share, and am excited to see what they release next. I really enjoy that Restless Road continues to impress me time after time, and I know that these YouTube covers are just a small taste of what this powerhouse trio has in store (yay!!!).

In 2014, Andrew and Zach announced that Colton had left the group, but that they would both continue in the group. On May 28, 2014, Andrew and Zach posted their rendition of the One Direction song ‘You and I’, and in doing so, officially introduced their fans to the newest member of Restless Road, Jared Keim. Restless Road has stated through their social media sites that they are currently writing and recording new original music for their fans. On June 3rd, 2014, Restless Road uploaded a Ustream session (a website that allows people to hold Q&A and/or performance sessions) to YouTube. In this Ustream session they discussed the future of Restless Road, answered questions, and really allowed their fans to see their true personalities (BTW they are really funny guys, y’all should definitely check out the video).

So as you can see, Restless Road is on their way to becoming country music’s next super trio. With talent, ambition, charisma, and a loyal fan base, there is no stopping these superstars. I can definitely see them performing on numerous large scale platforms (stadiums, award shows, etc.) one day, and their sound and vocal versatility is also very radio friendly. It seems as if the stars are aligning perfectly for this power trio, and I for one am excited to see where their “Restless Road” takes them.

Monday Memos: Divergent Movie Review…Hollywood Hype or Oscar Gold?

Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘Monday Memos’, we are going to talk about the movie that is currently on everyone’s mind, Divergent! Although there is a tradition in Hollywood of making films inspired by popular books, this trend has become more prominent in the past few years. The current trend of shooting films inspired by popular young adult books began with the 2001 release of ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’ (this was the title that was used in the U.S and a few other countries, but the original title of the book and movie was ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone). This film was given raved reviews from critics and fans, and would soon produce a phenomenon that would result in films, books, merchandise, amusement parks, and much more! This trend has continued with films such as ‘Twilight’, ‘The Hunger Games’, and now ‘Divergent’. Now if you’re a fan of the book, then you’ve probably already seen the movie but, if you are on the fence about whether or not you should see it then please read on!

Now before we talk about the movie, I thought that y’all might want to know a little about the book. ‘Divergent’ is the first in a three book series written by Veronica Roth. She wrote ‘Divergent’ during the winter break of her senior year of college, and the movie rights were secured before she graduated. The book received great reviews, and has quickly gained a fiercely loyal group of fans. Like the books that came before it, this novel has produced a line of merchandise, and has turned the actors in the movie into instant global superstars. Now let’s start talking about the movie! Just so you know, I will not give out nay spoilers in this blog post, I’m just going to touch on how interesting it is, is it worth spending money on, so don’t worry what actually happens in the movie will remain a mystery.

First of all, let me start by saying that I haven’t read any of the books in the series, so I walked into the theater completely oblivious about what to except or whether or not I would enjoy the story. I have seen some of the projects that various members of the cast has worked on, but I was still on the fence as to whether or not this movie was really going to be super interesting. After watching the film, I only have two words to describe ‘Divergent’ …it’s AMAZING! This sci-fi thriller is filled with non-stop action, and suspense. I love that the plot of the film is interesting from beginning to end, and leaves the viewer with a deep emotional connection with the film and its’ characters. The movie definitely sends you on a roller coaster ride of emotions, and at the end leaves you anxious for the next installment (seriously can that be released tomorrow or something…please…never hurts to ask right?!?). I’ve read that the film strays from the book and cuts out/adds certain events, but I think that diehard fans of the book will still love the movie because the film is certainly strong enough to stand on its’ own. In fact, one of the films greatest strengths is the performance of the lead actress Shailene Woodley, who was able to perfectly adapt to her character’s growth throughout the film, and proved that not only is she lead actress material, but she is also an Oscar worthy actress (she is definitely going to have A LOT of gold in her future). I also really loved the rest of the cast, I feel that they all portrayed their roles honestly and really made you feel every word of dialogue. Of course, I also loved the great chemistry between Shailene and Theo James (who plays her love interest in the movie), and I hope you all get used to seeing Theo on the big screen, because I think we will be seeing a lot of him in the future. It is a known fact that Theo beat out a lot of amazing, well-established actors for his role, and all I have say is Bravo ‘Divergent’ casting directors, great job!

Like I said earlier, I DO NOT want to spoil the movie for any of y’all (because trust me it is that good, but if you’re going to invest your money (or someone else’s money) in a movie this year, ‘Divergent’ should definitely be first on your list. I would not suggest waiting and buying the movie on DVD or renting it, because I think that the special effects can really only be fully experienced on the big screen (with very unhealthy yet delicious snacks, but that’s a topic for another blog). Anyway, to sum everything up…‘Divergent’ is a film for the young, the old, the sci-fi crazed, those who claim to hate sci-fi, fans of the book, and anyone who just “accidentally” goes into the theater. This is a good family film, date film, or event a good to take your grandma too if you’re trying to spend quality time (or if your just looking for a reason to put off that math homework). I definitely give ‘Divergent’ 5 smiley faces (I would give it stars but smiley faces are cooler).

Monday Memos: Artist Spotlight Ariana Grande

Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘Monday Memos’ blog, we will be discussing an artist that has had an amazing year, and that I feel you need to keep an eye on her next year. Now who is this artist you ask? I’m glad you asked that! It’s the multitalented Ariana Grande (Cue the clapping!!!!!) 2013 was a very good year for Ariana, but she has worked for years to get to this point in her life, and she certainly deserves all the success she has had. So if for some strange reason you don’t know who Ariana Grande is, you will definitely know about her after you read this blog. Ready!? Well then let’s get started!

Ariana Grande:

Ariana was born on June 26th, 1993 in Boca Raton, FL. She began performing in local theater production and at local sporting events at a young age, and even at this time, she had an amazing voice, as well as a comfort and ease in front of large crowds. Here’s a link to a video of a then 8 year old Ariana performing the national anthem at Chicago Blackhawks vs. Florida Panthers hockey game in Sunrise, FL Ariana Grande at 8 years old singing National Anthem – YouTube (Watch the video and you’ll be impressed…did you watch it? It was great right?) In 2008 Ariana began work on the Jason Robert Brown musical 13 (which was a show that had a 105 performance run on Broadway). She played the character of ‘Charlotte’, and sang 3 songs (which included: ‘It Can’t Be True’, ‘A Little More Homework’, and ‘Brand New You’) on the show’s album.

In March of 2010 Ariana made her debut as a main cast member on the new Nickelodeon show ‘Victorious’ (the show stared Nickelodeon alum Victoria Justice, and Ariana’s former ‘13’ costar Elizabeth Gillies was also a part of the cast). Ariana played the role of ‘Cat Valentine’ on the show until ‘Victorious ended in February of 2013. ‘Victorious’ creator Dan Schneider was so impressed by Ariana’s work and fan reception on ‘Victorious’, that he cast her in a spin-off show called ‘Sam & Cat’, which also included ‘iCarly’ (another highly successful Nickelodeon show) alum Jennette McCurdy (who plays Sam on the girls spin-off show). ‘Sam and Cat’ aired in June of 2013, and is a situational comedy, which has been a huge hit for the network thus far. In August of 2013, Ariana starred as ‘Amanda Benson’, in the Nickelodeon movie ‘Swindle’.

Although Ariana has had great success as an actress, she is also an accomplished singer. She released a single in December of 2011 called ‘Put Your Hearts Up’, which was a pop song about how doing small good deeds can cause big changes in the world (Here’s a link to a lyric video of the song Ariana Grande – Put Your Hearts Up (+ Lyrics) – YouTube, I highly suggest checking out his song, it’s very inspirational and well sung). Ariana has also released many amazing covers over the past few years, such as a rendition of Mariah Carey’s hit ‘Emotions’( Emotions – Ariana Grande (Mariah Carey cover) – YouTube), Leona Lewis’ track ‘Bleeding Love (’Bleeding Love – Ariana Grande – YouTube), and Alicia Key’s hit track ‘If I ain’t got you’ (‘If I Ain’t Got You’ Ariana Grande 🙂). On September 3rd, 2013, Ariana released her debut album ‘Yours Truly’ through Republic Records. ‘Yours Truly’ sold 138,000 copies in it, making Ariana the first female artist since January 2010 (when Ke$ha’s album ‘Animal’) to have a #1 debut album. The overall sound of this album was much more R&B than Ariana’s previous song ‘Put Your Hearts Up’, and has caused her to be compared to strong female vocalist, such as Mariah Carey. Ariana has performed on numerous shows such as ‘The Today Show’, ‘Dancing with the Stars’, and the ‘MTV Video Music Awards’ pre-show. Ariana performed her song ‘Tattooed Heart’ at the 2013 American Music Awards, and also won ‘New Artist of the Year’ at the award show (here’s a link so y’all can see how awesome she was: .Ariana Grande performing at AMAs – YouTube). Ariana also released

2013 has certainly been an extraordinary year for Ariana Grande, and I foresee 2014 being an even better year for her. It is rumored that Ariana will release another album in 2014, and her show ‘Sam & Cat’ is still one of Nickelodeon’s highest rated shows. Ariana Grande has defiantly proven in the last year that she is Hollywood’s newest “It” girl, and she certainly has the talent and fan base for a long and fruitful career.

YouTube Wednesday: Post Thanksgiving Pilates Workouts

Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘YouTube Wednesday’, we’re going to discuss a scenario that I think we’ve all been in. It’s the day after Thanksgiving; you wake up and suddenly regret all the slices of pie, turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, etc., that you ate the day before (Yes, you right there). Once you’ve come to this realization you start stressing out about finding the time to go for a jog or braving the elements to travel to a gym. Well don’t worry! I found a great YouTube trainer that will have you feeling regret free this holiday season (YES!!!!!! Cookie time!). Ready? Ok, here we go!

Certified Pilates and fitness instructor Cassey Ho (or blogilates, as she is more commonly known as) posts Pilates videos, in which uses the energy of popular Top 40 radio hits to make the exercises fun. Cassey currently has 936,992 subscribers, and 74,292,068 views on YouTube, she also teaches POP Pilates in person at the Equinox Fitness Club in Los Angeles, CA. Along with her Pilates classes, Cassey also designs and markets various Pilates themed workout clothes, equipment, and a DVD, some of these products have even been featured in SHAPE magazine and on The Wendy Williams Show. As if these accomplishments are not enough, Cassey was also named the Best Healthy Living Blogger of 2012 by FITNESS magazine, and the #2 most influential online personality by Sharecare ( she was only beaten out by reality show fitness guru Jillian Michaels…good job Cassey, you go Glen Coco!).

Cassey also writes a successful blog in which she posts healthy food recipes and workout calendars to go along with her YouTube videos. On her blog, Cassey also provides written meal plans that will help you achieve various fitness goals. If at this point you’re thinking, “I want to get healthier and eat cleaner, but I can’t give up my burgers!!!”…have no fear, Cassey also provides recipes to make healthier versions of our favorite foods, such as pumpkin pie, muffins, pizza bites, and even Doritos (yeah you heard me right DORITOS!…It’s perfectly ok if you scream at this point…go ahead…ok… time’s up!)

Her blog site also has various true stories of people who have transformed their bodies using Cassey’s methods. I thought this was a really cool idea because losing weight or toning up can often be a hard and grueling process, so seeing other people’s success can often encourage you to stay focused on your own fitness goals.

I’ve personally tried many of Cassey’s workouts, and I can tell you that they’re HARD…but they are very rewarding, so I would definitely check out Cassey’s videos and her blog. Now even though there are many, many, MANY, different types of videos on Cassey’s YouTube channel, I did find some videos made specifically for Thanksgiving, so I’ll post links to those videos below, but I suggest you check out all of her videos. Well…what are you doing? Go look at the videos, you can do it, I believe in you! Thanks for reading this post and until Friday, bye!!!!!!!
