Monday Memos: High Valley, the band that will hook you from the first note

Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘Monday Memos’ we’re going to talk about an AMAZING Country music high valleyband that you just gotta check out. If you’ve never heard of High Valley then please keep reading! These guys will instantly hook you with their incredible vocals, and insanely catchy songs. If you’re already a fan of this band then you know just how awesome they are, if you haven’t heard of them then prepare to be amazed. Ready? Ok, let’s go!!!

High Valley is a Canadian Country music band that has already made a HUGE splash in the Country Music scene. Because of this, they have already opened up for music legends such as: Little Big Town, Alan Jackson, and Shania Twain. They have also worked with country music stars such as singer/songwriter/producer Paul Bradt (who has won numerous music awards both in the U.S. and Canada, and also co-wrote the song ‘For You’, which was performed by Johnny Cash and Dave Matthews for the soundtrack of the film ‘We Were Soldiers’). Most recently High Valley  worked with songwriter/producer Seth Mosley (who won a Grammy Award in 2015, and has worked with Contemporary Christian music superstars such as: Michael W. Smith, Mercy Me, Hawk Nelson who we covered in a previous blog which you can check out here: http://celindareyesblog.com/2015/03/monday-memos-hawk-nelson-your-new-favorite-band-has-arrived/, Jeremy Camp, Newsboys, and many others), and co-wrote songs with Ben Stennis (who has worked with country music superstars such as: Jason Aldean, Chase Rice, Tim Hicks), Fred Wilhelm (who has worked with country music legends such as: Faith Hill, Rascal Flatts, Little Big Town) and award-winning Canadian country music songwriter Deric Ruttan.

Ok, now that you know a little bit about the band, let’s get to the music! Now I really wish that I could talk about all of this music that High Valley has released because it’s AMAZING (if you want me to talk more about this band please leave a comment below), but I choose 3 songs that I feel will really get you excited about High Valley. The first song that we’re going to talk about is High Valley’s cover of Bucky Covington’s 2010 single ‘A Father’s Love (The Only Way He Knew How), which was included on the band’s 2010 self-titled album. I absolutely loved this cover because High Valley slowed the song down just a bit which made it feel fresh, but were also able to keep the vibe of the original version that fans have come to love. Through this cover, High Valley is really able to make you feel the emotion of the lyrics, and you find yourself getting completely lost in the story they tell. The next song that we’re going to talk about is High Valley’s ‘Rescue You’, the 1st single off of their 2014 album ‘Country Line’. This is such a fun, high energy song, that is perfect to sing along to in the car. The message of the song is really sweet, and before you know it you WILL be completely addicted to this song. Ok, the final song that we’re going to talk about today is the band’s latest single off ‘She’s With Me’ (which you can check out the official music video for below).Personally this is one of my favorite High Valley songs, because it’s a really high energy song, with infectious lyrics, and it’s the perfect mix of country with just a touch of indie pop. You will definitely have this song on repeat for a LONG time. After hearing ‘She’s With Me’, I’m really excited to see what this incredible band will do next.

YouTube Wednesday: Rachel Clark…your subscription box’s favorite new YouTuber

Hello people of the Internet!!! On today’s ‘YouTube Wednesday’ blog post we are going to discuss an awesome new YouTube that you’re going to spend all your free time this year watching. She only started posting videos a few months ago, but this YouTuber is already proving that she has what it takes to become a YouTube star. Rachel Clark is a 17 year old beauty/fashion/DIY guru, who will instantly captivate you with her videos, and leave you constantly checking your subscription box for more. So if y’all are ready, let’s dive into the blog post so you can find out why Rachel is one YouTuber you will not be able to live without.

The first video that we’re going to talk about is Rachel’s ‘Summer Lookbook 2014’, which was uploaded on June 1st, 2014 (you can check out the video below). Now even though this is the first video that Rachel uploaded, it definitely helps her channel kick off on a very positive note. This is a really cool Lookbook that shows that she has a good on camera presence, is confident with what she is doing, and of course has an amazing sense of style that her fans can easily draw inspiration from. The next video that we’re going to discuss is Rachel’s ‘Easy and Healthy Desert Ideas’, which was uploaded on August 17th, 2014. I really loved this idea, because we all love food, but with summer right around the corner, no one wants the extra calories. These desserts are the perfect mix of healthy and fun. They also receive bonus points because these are “no oven” recipes, which means that just about anyone can make them (but you do have to cut some stuff so make sure that you’re careful when using knives…safety first).

Next up we have Rachel’s ‘Bronze Eyes and Dark Lips: Fall Makeup Tutorial 2014’, which was uploaded on November 4th 2014 (you can view this video below). Even though this is technically a fall look and we’re entering spring this week, I just had to share this video with y’all. Once I saw this tutorial I just fell in love with the look, and I know you will too! If you want to stand out at a party, this is definitely a look you should try out, because you WILL get noticed with this one. It’s not a very difficult look to achieve, but I would definitely practice with it before you try it on a special night. The last video that we’re going to talk about is Rachel’s ‘Summer Trends 2015: Fashion & Makeup’ video, which was uploaded on February 25th, 2015. I thought that this was a really cool video to highlight because the more advice we can get about what will be on trend this spring the better right? Right! I loved that Rachel choose a wide variety of fashion and makeup looks, so basically everyone can find something that fits their unique style. If you love fashion/beauty then you should check out this video!

YouTube Wednesday: BriannaxBeautyx…the beauty guru who is quickly rising to the top

Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘YouTube Wednesday’ we are going to talk about another AMAZING beauty/fashion guru who you NEED to know about. I was randomly looking on YouTube (because I’m always randomly on YouTube), and I stumbled across a channel that I am now so in love with, and I know y’all will be too! If you’re not already familiar with BriannaxBeautyx, then you need to subscribe to her channel right now (I mean like right this very second…finish reading this and then please go subscribe to this channel, because you’ll become obsessed). Brianna is a 13 year old beauty/fashion guru from Ohio, who is also a musician (here’s the link to her music channel: Brianna Nicole). With her knowledge about all things beauty/fashion related, witty banter, and natural on-camera charisma and honesty, I anticipate that Brianna will soon become one of the queens of YouTube. So get ready to meet your newest fav YouTuber.

The first video we’re going to discuss is Brianna’s ‘Makeup of The Day’ video (here’s a link: Makeup Of The Day! ), which was uploaded on June 10th, 2012. I picked this video because it’s the first beauty video that she uploaded, and I feel that you can really see her raw talent as a beauty guru. You can really see how a YouTuber grows from their first video, and in 2 years’ time, Brianna has grown A LOT from this initial video. I do think that the look that she shows on this video is a nice, easy to copy look for anyone just starting to wear makeup, because she shows exactly which products and colors she uses. The next video that we’re going to discuss is Brianna’s ’10 Products I would repurchase Tag’ (here’s the link to the video: 10 products I would repurchase TAG!), which was uploaded on February 17th, 2013. I thought that this would be a fun video to talk about because it’s an easy to find out different beauty guru’s favorite products. Personally I like watching these videos because you get honest opinions about lots of different products, so you find out which products you should purchase, and which ones you should skip (so you can save your money and do even more shopping. I really enjoyed Brianna’s video because it was a fun mix of high-end and drugstore products. She also explained why she chose each product, which is perfect for someone who is starting to learn about makeup.

Next up we have the ‘Summer Clothing Haul 2014’ video (here’s a link: Summer Clothing Haul 2014! {VS Pink, Hollister & More!}, which was uploaded on June 10th, 2014. Now y’all know that I had to include a haul video in this piece because haul videos are AMAZING! This video really gives viewers a glimpse into Brianna’s personal style. I really liked that the items she showed were trendy, very style neutral (meaning most people would probably like these pieces regardless of your personal style), and affordable enough that if you like the pieces shown you could probably buy the same items, or something similar. The last video we are going to talk about is Brianna’s ‘Back To School: Emergency Kit For Girls!’ video (link: Back To School: Emergency Kit For Girls!), which was uploaded on August 23rd, 2014. I thought that this was a really cool video idea, that y’all would enjoy, and the video is actually really helpful so I suggest you all watch it. I think that Brianna mentions a lot of really good beauty/personal items that you should have with you at school or work. This video will definitely help you avoid a lot of common embarrassing situations so I would suggest you watch this video closely. Lastly, I really love how you can see just how much Brianna has grown as a YouTube over the past 2 years. I’m really excited to see where she goes from here, because she is definitely a star on the rise that we all need to look out for.
