Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘YouTube Wednesday’ we’re going to talk about a song that is very near and dear to our hearts. Yes, people of the internet, we’re talking about the ‘Full House’ theme song. We all know that as soon as you hear the opening lyrics of that song you are going to experience a show that’s funny, quirky, and awesome. With the announcement of ‘Fuller House’, we knew that a new theme song would follow, and guess what…it’s here! Now let’s talk all about the theme song below. Ready? Ok, let’s go!!!
The new theme song is a cover of the ‘Full House’ original theme song ‘Everywhere You Look’ by Carly Rae Jepsen (which was performed by singer/songwriter Jesse Frederick). The song definitely has a more modern feel that sets a new tone for ‘Fuller House’. We also get treated to a new verse in the song, which really helps this version feel like its own theme. Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘Monday Memos’ we’re going to talk about the 1st ‘Fuller House’ teaser that was recently released. We previously discussed the ‘6 Things We Want To See in Fuller House’ (you can check out that blog post here: Monday Memos: 6 things we want to see in Fuller House), and I know that we were all super excited to see this teaser (you may now fangirl/fanboy scream…ok that’s enough…seriously please stop freaking out everyone). We didn’t get any new information from this teaser, but it definitely hit you right in the feels. So let’s hop on the nostalgia train and discuss this amazing new teaser & the other information we have on the return of one of TV’s favorite families! Ready? Ok let’s go!!!
The video is beautifully shot and features parts of the iconic Tanner house such as the kitchen and living room filled with the best furniture like the one available at archute.com. It also featured the song ‘The House That Built Me’ by Miranda Lambert throughout the trailer, which really adds to the nostalgic feeling you get from the teaser. Although we don’t get to see any of the Tanner/Fuller family, we do get to hear their voices at the end of the teaser, and we even get some classic ‘Full House’ jokes thrown in there such as uncle Jesse’s obsession regarding his hair, and Joey’s iconic “cut it out” line. So needless to say this teaser will definitely hit fans of ‘Full House’ in the nostalgia, and will get you excited for what ‘Fuller House’ will bring when it premieres on February 26th, 2016.

Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘Monday Memos’ we are going to talk about something that I think we can all relate to. Now I know that you all remember getting up early on Saturday mornings and watching your favorite cartoons (this was probably the only time any of us ever voluntary woke up early). So with the recent trend of popular shows receiving spin-offs/continuations (such as ‘Digimon’, ‘Boy Meets World’, and ‘Full House’), I thought that this would be a good time to talk about a few cartoons that also deserve a spin-off/continuation. As much as I am aware that there are a wide variety of cartoons out there that are aimed towards adults on websites such as cartoonporno xxx, today I want to talk about some classic child friendly throwbacks! For the sake of time, I only chose 5 shows for this list (even though there are SOOO many more), so if y’all have any suggestions please comment below. Ok, are you ready? Let’s go!
5) DuckTales:
Ok honestly how could you not like this show? I mean it’s about the awesome adventures that Scrooge McDuck and his nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie (haha those names always crack me up) go on. This show is based off of the ‘Uncle Scrooge’ comics, and featured really awesome villains and additional characters such as Donald Duck. Now technically ‘DuckTails’ has already gotten two spin-offs (‘Darkwing Duck’ and ‘Quack Pack’), but these spin-offs featured some of the characters from ‘DuckTails’, not all of the characters. It’s also been 19 years since ‘Quack Pack’ (the last spin-off) aired, so I think it’s time for the ducks to return. I mean the ‘DuckTails’ theme song along should be enough proof of this show’s awesomeness.
4) Rocket Power
Ok now this is a show that I’m surprised hasn’t already gotten a spin-off. This show had an awesome mix of fun, life lessons, and kids doing awesome extreme sports. Anybody who watched ‘Rocket Power’ definitely wanted to be just like Otto and his friends (the characters on the show just in case you didn’t know). Another thing that really made this show awesome was the fact that we finally got a really cool female character in Reggie (Otto’s sister). Of course she dealt with boy/friend problems just like any girl, but she could also beat a lot of the guy characters on the show, and proved that being a tomboy can be very cool. Exciting adventures, cool characters, and awesome extreme sports, remind me again why this show hasn’t gotten a spin-off?
3) Hey Arnold!
Ok now you gotta love ‘Hey Arnold!’. What I liked best about this show is that the characters were super relatable, and seemed like real kids so the plot lines of the show were believable. Whether you were cool like Gerald, slightly crazy but actually misunderstood like Helga, or completely average like Arnold, you found a character that could represent you on the show. Even though we love shows that have cool, crazy characters, in awesome situations, it definitely shows talent and courage for a network to make a show that’s just about regular kids dealing with regular life stuff. With not a lot of cartoons like this currently on air, it seems like the perfect time to shout out ‘Hey Arnold!’.
2) Animaniacs
Now this was a show that was wacky, fun, and a little weird at times, but honestly we loved every minute of it! This show was about three siblings named Yakko, Wakko, and Dot who were fictional 1930s cartoon stars, who were locked away in the Warner Bros. water tower until they escaped in the 1990s. Once the three escape they wreck havoc on the Warner Bros. lot. Yakko, Wakko, and Dot got into really hilarious situations by interacting with “studio employees” and other cartoon characters on the lot. What I liked most about this show is it had a cool mix of wacky humor, pop culture references, and more mature jokes that we probably didn’t get as kids. This show has had spin-offs but it was so unique that I think it deserves to entertain us again.

1) Recess
Lastly, but definitely not least, we have ‘Recess’ (aka the show about the BFFs you wished you had). This show was about a group of 6 fourth graders, who had adventures and dealt with life problems during everyone’s favorite time of the day…recess! The characters playground is a mini-world environment that has the stereotypical cliques, and a “government” complete with unwritten laws, and even a king. This was another show that had a wide range of characters that just about everyone could relate to. Whether you fit in more with T.J. the class clown, Spinelli the tomboy, Gretchen the nerd, or even Randall the snitch, you’ll definitely see yourself within this series. Even though ‘Recess’ had a few movies after the show ended, we only got to see the characters make it to the 5th grade. I say we need at least 1 more season so they can go to 6th grade, and then move on to middle school.

Hello people of the Internet!!! On today’s ‘Monday Memos’ we are going to discuss the revival of one of our fav sitcoms ‘Full House’. Now with this iconic show’s sequel ‘Fuller House’ making its’ way to Netflix next year, I thought that this would be a good time to discuss the ‘6 things we want to see from Fuller House’. Now the only characters that we’re going to talk about in this blog post are DJ (Candace Cameron Bure), Kimmy (Andrea Barber), Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin), uncle Jesse (John Stamos), DJ’s 12 year old son JD, DJ’s 7 year old son Max, and Kimmy’s teenage daughter Ramona (I don’t think that any of the names of the actors playing the kids in this show have been released, and there’s always the possibly that their characters’ name’s might change but this is the info we have so far). The rest of the original cast has not been officially added to ‘Fuller House’, so we’re just gonna work with the characters we know will be in the show at this point. 6) Ok, now this show’s plot revolves around DJ who is now a widow with 2 sons, and a baby on the way. She needs help dealing with life, so she asks her best friend Kimmy, and younger sister Stephanie to move in with her to help. We all know that in this scenario, the first thing we’re all going to ask is who did DJ marry? That leads us to another question, which is what happened to Steve (DJ’s boyfriend throughout most of her high school years)? So I think we’re left with 3 opinions here. Either DJ married Steve and he’s dead (which would break our hearts because these two were definitely some of our first OTP aka One True Pairing). Another choice is Steve could leave in/move to DJ’s neighborhood and try to be a friend to her during this hard time, and eventually maybe start pursing a relationship with her. Or, Steve could be married/divorced and come back into DJ’s life as a friend, and she wants to pursue a relationship with him but can’t. No matter what they decide to do with Steve’s character, we definitely need some kind of closure.
5) Another thing that we need to find out is what career DJ chose to pursue. We know that Stephanie is a struggling musician, and I don’t think we know what career Kimmy chose yet (and honestly I couldn’t come up with one so I’m excited to see what happens). I don’t remember DJ having a lot of specific interests outside of writing, and doing school newspaper/yearbook editor type of stuff (if y’all remember more please let me know), so I thought that maybe DJ would be a good TV reporter. DJ was also very cool and a little daring so maybe she could be one of those reporters that goes around reporting on world events like wars, natural disasters, stuff like that. Maybe the show could even have DJ quit her job and start an independent record label with Stephanie (since she’s a musician), and we could see some cool Joey/Jesse type of comedy from the two sisters.
4) Ok, now I think we can all agree that Kimmy was a really fun character, so I’m excited to see what grown up Kimmy will be like. I think that one funny thing that the show could do, would be to have DJ’s kids (specifically her older son because he’s suppose to be the rebellious one), take advantage of Kimmy’s lack of intellect, by getting her to tell him about all of the “bad” stuff DJ and Kimmy did as kids. I think that this could produce some really funny situations, where the kids could use this knowledge for ideas, or ammo against their mom.
3) So far we don’t know anything about Kimmy’s daughter Ramona except her name, so I thought that it would be fun to think about what her character might be like. I think it would be fun if Ramona was a funny, comic relief type of character, but in a completely different way than Kimmy was. I think that it would be cool if Ramona was really smart and had a sarcastic, almost too mature for her age type of personality. This would really be the first time that this series had a character like this, so it could be a fun change.
2) it would be awesome if we had a storyline were DJs son JD gets arrested. Now hear me out for a minute. Full House had a lot of episode that dealt with the issues that kids face such as: peer pressure, drinking, smoking, dating, etc., so this could be an interesting step. I think it would be an interesting story, if JD got arrested for something smallish like shoplifting or very light vandalism, and we got a classic Danny Tanner speech from DJ. It would be a touchy subject, but I think that this show could handle it really well.
1) And of course we need to see an episode that talks about how DJ’s sons are affected by their Dad’s death. This would definitely be a more emotional episode than we’re used to from this franchise, but it would be a really good way to explain how JD (who is said to be very rebellious) and Max (who is said to be very neurotic) ended up the way they are. This would definitely be a very compelling story, which would definitely bring back the tone and writing that made Full House such a success.

Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘YouTube Wednesday’ blog we are featuring Beauty Guru/Singer Natasha Bure. This young rising YouTube star has only been on YouTube for a short time, but has already proven that she is very knowledgeable about beauty, fashion, and how to capture the undivided attention of an audience. At the young age of 16, Natasha has shown through her videos that she is an intelligent, charismatic young entertainer who will very soon take the internet by storm. It’s easy to see where Natasha’s talent as an entertainer comes from, if you consider the fact that her mother is actress Candace Cameron Bure (who most know as DJ Tanner from the highly popular sitcom Full House). Trust me, once you see one of Natasha’s videos, you will instantly become a fan and will also want to see this young talent blossom into the next YouTube queen.
Natasha uploaded her first YouTube video on August 11th, 2014 Natasha Bure Official Youtube + All About It). This video was an introductory video that tells viewers what to except on the channel in the future. I decided to mention this video not only because it is the first one on the channel, but also because even in a video with such sole content, Natasha is able to show that she is funny, relatable, comfortable on camera, and most importantly, very fun to watch. The next video that we are going to discuss is Natasha’s ‘August Favorites’ video which she uploaded on August 21st, 2014 (August Favorites ). This video covered Natasha’s favorite beauty/skin products, movies, and miscellaneous products of the month. I really loved all of the products that Natasha mentions in her video, and I also loved the mixed between high end and inexpensive items that she had in the video, I definitely think that this makes the video appeal to a wider range of audience. In this video, Natasha also allows her bubbly personality to shine, and certainly will make everyone wish they could be her BFF (also, the mean girls reference was great…Glenn Coco would be so proud). The final video that we are going to discuss in this blog post, is Natasha’s ‘Back To School Style + What’s In My Backpack’ video which was uploaded on August 29th, 2014 (Back To School Style + What’s In My Backpack). I really thought that this video was perfect to showcase because back to school time is now upon us. I absolutely LOVED the outfits that Natasha showcased because they’re cute, stylish, perfect for a wide range of styles, and school/parent approved (got to keep those ATMs…I mean parents happy…just kidding, we love them). I also really loved how Natasha was able to show how back to school style can also extend to school supplies. She was able to show pieces that were both efficient and cute. You gotta love a girl who’s so stylish that she makes you want to even copy her school supplies style (and trust me you will want to).
Didn’t I say see was amazing? As I’m sure you can already tell, Natasha is on her way to become a top YouTuber. I think that what really sets Natasha apart from all of the other beauty/fashion gurus on YouTube, is the fact that she is not only knowledgeable about both topics, but she also has an incredible level of comfort in front of the camera. She also has the ability to quickly gain an audience, in fact in only a month on YouTube (as of September 10th, 2014); she already has 2,436 subscribers and 23,957 total channel views. I was awestruck when I found out about these numbers. I mean, some businesses find it hard to gain YouTube subscribers and comments and might have made use of some of the best sites to buy YouTube comments and views to promote their YouTube page. I don’t think Natasha has had any such service to help her. She also has over 72,000 followers on Instagram (which achieved in about 7 or 8 months), and 1,960 Twitter followers (which she accumulated in about 1 month). I find this truly amazing, especially seeing as some people can find it so hard to even reach this number in their lifetimes. If I’m honest, I thought the only way you could increase your Instagram followers was through a service similar to what Nitreo, (https://nitreo.com) can offer. Or so this is what my friend tells me. I’ve never tried it. This achievement just goes to show that you can reach thousands of followers on your own, but there is no harm in getting additional help along the way. So as you can see, Natasha is quickly becoming the internet’s biggest not so secret talent. I am very excited to see where Natasha goes from here. It will be fun to see just how high this young star rises.

Hello people of the internet!!! With Disney Channel’s announcement of their newest show ‘Girl Meets World’ (a spin-off show of the popular 90s hit ‘Boy Meets World’), I began to think about the “spin-off” trend in television. First in 2003 Nickelodeon premiered its spin-off of the beloved children’s show ‘Rugrats’, which was entitled ‘All Grown Up’ and remained on air until 2008. Then, in 2008 The CW premiered a new version of the 90s teen phenomenon ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’, with a new cast of characters (however some of the actors from the original show guest stared on 90210). So, it’s apparent that “spin-off fever” has become very prevalent in Hollywood over the past few years. I think that this is because we become very emotionally invested in the characters from our favorite TV shows, that we begin to subconsciously think of them as real people, and thus we want to know all about their past and future (oh you know you start thinking of them as real people, don’t pretend like I’m the only one…I thought so). Although many great shows have had spin-offs (and occasionally prequels), I have made a list of 10 shows that I think deserve a chance to live again. 10) Sister Sister
The thing that I always liked about this comedy, was how the characters dealt with real life issues, along with the primary storyline of two twin sisters who meet unexpectedly after being separated at birth. This show catapulted Tia & Tamera Mowry into superstardom, which led them to star in numerous other projects both separately and together. I think that it would be very interesting to see how the characters developed as they grew up, and how they ended up relating to one another as adults.
9) Doc
From 2001-2004, the world was reintroduced to country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, as the kind hearted and wise doctor ‘Clint Cassidy’ on ‘Doc’. On the show, Cyrus’ character dealt with personal, moral, and ethical issues; as well as the common politics found in the professional world. The show was full of complex relationships, interesting twists, and very relatable characters, so I think that it would be really interesting to see where their lives led them.
8)Lizzie McGuire
This show was a HUGE hit for Disney Channel in the early 2000s, and become a very successful franchise which included: clothing, fashion accessories, toys, a movie, and numerous other products, which became very profitable for the Disney Corporation. This show also launched the career of Hilary Duff, and quickly made the young girl a household name. The show ended at the end of the summer, right before the main characters where going to enter high school. The success of this show paved the way for numerous other young actresses to have successful careers in music, fashion, etc.
7)7th Heaven
This long running family drama revolved around the lives of the Camden family. The Camden family was a typical middle class family, who dealt with real life issues and triumphs in the town of Glen Oak, California. The father character on the show Eric Camden, (who was portrayed by Stephen Collins) was a protestant minister, whose large heart often placed him and his family in interesting situations. This show explored various social, economical, and ethical themes, which evolved over the years to keep in tune with our ever changing society. I think that the plot lines and character development were so impressive, that a spin-off of this show would have success for a numerous amount of years, and would grow with a generation the way 7th Heaven did.
6)George Lopez
This show (which starred comedian/actor George Lopez), showed the reality of a middle-class Hispanic family living in California. As the majority of the shows on this list do, this show explored real-life issues however; it also explored the plight of what working class individuals go through, when they move up the cooperate ladder. Although this show was not extremely popular when it originally aired, its ratings have done extremely well in syndication. I believe that due to how popular the show has become since its original run ended, along with the growing popularity of George Lopez, (due to his involvement with the Disney ‘Beverly Hills Chihuahua’ franchise), that this would be the perfect time for a spin-off to happen. George Lopez now has voice recognition credibility, so even if some people don’t know how he is, they will recognize his voice, and be attracted to the sitcom.
5) Home Improvement
‘Home Improvement’ was a family sitcom, (which starred actor Tim Allen), which revolved around the lives of a man named Tim (who was the host of a home improvement show, where he also sold tools for a fictional tool company called ‘Binford Tools’),his family, his best friend, and his neighbor. Tim was a very cocky man, whose pride often got his family into crazy situations. This sitcom made a large amount of the cast into household names, and led to numerous other projects during, and after the show originally aired. I think that a spin-off of this show would do very well, due to the original team’s excellent casting choices and witty scripts.
4)Seinfeld
This long running situational comedy starred (and was co-created by) comedian Jerry Seinfeld, who portrayed a comedian named Jerry on the show (talk about life imitating art). Jerry had three close friends on the show: George ( his best friend, whose extreme penny pitching ways and jealously of others, often got him into extremely uncomfortable situations), Elaine (his ex-girlfriend who is often too honest for her own good), and Kramer (Jerry’s eccentric neighbor, who often slid through Jerry’s door as his way of entrance, and was very abrasive of Jerry’s personal space). I believe that this show was so popular, because it resonated with the general public due to its dry and subtle humor. This show presented a model of comedy that had not previously been explored, and thus opened a new market in television, that has continued to be used ever since.
3)Friends
This highly acclaimed show, consisted of an ensemble cast, who portrayed 6 friends living in New York City, who dealt with the ups and downs of adult life. The characters had numerous entanglements among each other, which often were the cause of several interesting situations. Ever since the show ended its original run, fans of the show have asked for its return, so I think that it’s easy to see why a spin-off of the show would be a huge success. This show also launched the careers of all of the cast members, although some have had more fruitful careers than others, all 6 members of the cast have had career opportunities because of the show’s popularity. Although this show did have a short lived spin-off, I believe that the show’s continued popularity, would make a second spin-off a profitable investment.
2)Full House
There is no question that this family comedy has had amazing success in syndication, and thus certainly warrants a spin-off. This show revolved around the life of single father Danny Tanner (Bob Saget), who asks for the aid of his best friend (Joey) and brother-in-law (Jesse) , in raising his three daughters, once his wife passes away. Joey and Jesse soon become pseudo fathers to the girls, and continue to become essential members of the family for the shows entire run. This show starred John Stamos and Bob Saget, who were already successful entertainers in their own right, and launched the careers of the various other cast members, most notably, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen (who portrayed the youngest daughter Michelle).
1)The Cosby Show
Now we’ve reached #1 on our list!!! Although many of the other shows mentioned on this list could have easily been #1, I chose this show because of its ability to transcend through the decades, and remain relevant. This sitcom starred famous comedian and all around entertainer Bill Cosby, as a good natured New York doctor named Heathcliff “Cliff” Huxtable, who had a tendency to exaggerate, and tell tall tells. The cast was rounded out with Cliff’s wife Claire (a successful attorney), and his 5 children. The show dealt with more intense and difficult topics as the children on the show grew up however, the show was essentially a family sitcom, so the topics never got too out of control. The Cosby Show has continued to be a syndication success even though it has been two decades since the show went of air. Although this show has already had a spin-off (called ‘A Different World’, which aired form 1987-1993), I believe that the original show has been off air long enough to warrant a second spin-off. Additionally, this new spin-off would be much more successful than A Different World, because it would not be in direct competition with The Cosby Show, like A Different World was.
