Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘Monday Memos’ we’re talking all about back to school fashion. This time I decided to split the looks into 3 categories (preppy, casual, and uniform). I tried not to include any pieces that might violate most school dress codes, but you can always substitute any of the pieces for more weather appropriate choices depending on what your school allows (or if you’re in college and can pretty much wear whatever you want…but you’ll probably end up leaving in sweat pants or leggings…anyways, moving on now). I also didn’t include any skirts, dresses, or shorts because schools can be really picky on these pieces. So now let get to the part that you’re all waiting on, the clothes! Ready? Ok, let’s go!!!
Preppy Look:
Self-Tie Bow Blouse from Forever 21:
I know that this piece is a little different than what are usually in these Lookbooks, but I just thought that it had a very cool prim and proper flair. Sorta like something Spencer from ‘Pretty Little Liars’ would wear.
Skinny Jeans from American Eagle:
Skinny jeans really help add to this look and a bonus is that you can keep using these in the fall and winter so that means more money to buy other pieces (yay!).
Lace-Up Brogue Oxfords from Charlotte Russe:
You just gotta love a good Oxford shoe, because it’s dressy but also comfortable so you can run from one side of the school to the other without worrying about breaking your ankles.
Big Mango Backpack from Amazon:
I just have to say that I LOVE this backpack. It’s perfectly dresses up any outfit, and is big enough to fit your books and even a computer. You gotta love a backpack that’s fashionable and functional!
Casual Look:
Eyelash Lace-Trimmed Sweater from Forever 21
Ok I know it’s probably still a little warm for a sweater, but this just looked so comfortable that I couldn’t resist adding it. The lace trim definitely dresses up the piece, and it goes great with so many different outfits that it will soon become one of your closet staples.
Plaid Leggings from The Bethany Mota Collection by Aeropostale
Plaid is a great pattern to invest in because again you can use it in just about any season, so it saves money in the long run. Also, leggings are great on those days when you just don’t want to put any effort into you look, but don’t want anyone else to know that.
Easton Chunky Heel Combat Boots from Target:
Now what Back To School Lookbook would be complete without combat boots. You can use these boots for a casual look, edgy look, or anything in between. On another note, they’re also really comfy so this it’s a good alternative to sneakers, and combat boots are always in style.
Hynes Eagle Backpack from Amazon:
Ok I have to say that I’m seriously OBESSED with this backpack, it’s just amazing! The Eiffel tower picture is really cool, and the bright colors really pop, so you will definitely get noticed in the hallways. The best thing about this backpack is it’s perfect for anyone who’s constantly on the go, because it will hold all your stuff without any fuss.
Uniform Look:
White Short Sleeve Polo from American Eagle
I decided to add this category because it can really suck to have to wear uniforms, but just because you’re stuck wearing them doesn’t mean you still can’t look cute (on a side note accessories really help, just make sure you’re following your school’s dress code BEFORE you go shopping).
High Rise Jegging from H&M:
Now I’m not 100% sure what the general dress code policy is on jeggings but they look like jeans so that should be ok…right? I would definitely recommend getting high waisted jeans if you can, because they’re perfect if you have to have your shirt tucked in, and high waisted anything is really hot right now so it’s a double win!
Converse All Star Hi Wonder Woman Sneaker from Journeys:
Ok usually schools seem to be pretty relaxed when it come to sneakers, so this presents a really awesome opportunity to show off your individual style. On another note, if Wonder Woman isn’t your thing, this sneaker is also available with Superman and Batman prints so you’ll probably find something that you like.
Leaper Casual Canvas Backpack from Amazon:
I thought that this backpack will probably match most school uniforms, and it’s cute so your uniform won’t look so ordinary. Your backpack is another way to show off your individuality (unless you school requires clear backpacks), so if you’re forced to wear a uniform, this is definitely a good way to express your individuality.
Hello people of the internet!!! In honor of the beginning of everyone’s favorite season (summer!), I thought that it would be fun to discuss our ‘2015 Summer Lookbook’. This time around we have 3 looks, with various expensive and inexpensive pieces that you can use throughout the season. No matter what your style is, or what you may be doing this summer, there should definitely be some pieces here that you can utilize. Before we start let’s hear a quick word from Olaf
I know that was cheesy, but I had to do it. Ready to move on to the lookbook? Ok, let’s go!
Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘Monday Memos’ we are going to discuss BACK TO SCHOOL OUTFITS (yes I know that for some of you, THIS is the only good thing about going back to school)!!! Now as always, I am going to show y’all 3 different looks that should cover a wide range of styles. I am also going to try to edit the looks to comply with most school dress codes, but if your school’s dress codes are more/less strict then you can alter the looks accordingly. Also, remember that fashion is suppose to be fun, so don’t be afraid to combine pieces from each of the look to achieve something that reflects your personality. I didn’t add any accessories or makeup/hairstyle looks for these outfits, but you can add your own style with each of these, In order to make the look feel more you. Ok, now let’s get into the blog!!!
Girly Look:
Crochet High-Neck Chiffon Top from Wet Seal:
I really like this top because it’s loose and lightweight, so if the weather is still warm or hot where you live, then this top won’t make you sweat off all your makeup. I also liked the lace high neck on it, because it’s very feminine and cute, but is not revealing (the LAST thing you need is to start off the school year grounded or suspended…you’re welcome!).
Textured Faux Leather Jacket from Forever 21:
I chose this jacket because it’s cute and adds just a touch of edge to this very girly look. I know that a lot of school dress codes don’t allow students to wear tops without sleeves, so you can either add or remove the jacket depending on your school’s dress codes.
Faux Suede Oxfords from Forever 21:
I really loved these shoes for school because their cute, a little preppy, and most importantly COMFOTABLE! Seriously we all know that you often have to sacrifice comfort for style, so this is a fun alternative to heels, wedges, and flats.
Pink High-Waisted Jeggings from The Bethany Mota Collection exclusively at Aéropostale:
Of course we have to have a piece from one of our favorite internet fashion gurus, Bethany Mota! I really love Bethany’s clothing line, because she has a lot of fun pieces that can become staple pieces in your wardrobe. I thought that these jeggings added a cool pop of color to the outfit that will make you feel like it’s still summer, even when you’re trapped in a classroom or lecture hall.
Floral and Faux Leather Backpack from Icing
I really loved this backpack because it’s cute, and is perfect for any season. The faux leather also gives your outfit a “grown up” feel, so you don’t look overly girly or young with a completely floral backpack.
Quirky/Edgy Look:
Sweetheart Tube Skater Dress from Wet Seal
I really love this dress because it loose and flowy, which is perfect if it’s still hot where you live. It is also a perfect blend of girly and casual, so it’s perfect to dress up or down.
Plaid Shirt from Forever 21
Now for this look I really wanted to embrace the plaid trend that everyone loves by pairing a plaid shirt over this dress, to give it a very casual vibe. Also, since the dress might not be in accordance to dress code, the plaid shirt covers it up, and makes it dress code perfect.
Marvel Comics Combat Boots from Wet Seal
I completely fell in love with these boots when I saw them, because who doesn’t love the Marvel superheroes. These felt like the perfect touch to make this look a little more quirky and unique (you can also wear black combat boots if you want a more rocker vibe to your outfit).
Mustache with Glasses Backpack from Amazon
Lastly, I really liked this backpack because it’s fun and will definitely make any outfit you pair it with have a very unique feel. What I really love most about this backpack though is that it is so cute and unique that you could even wear it with an outfit outside of the classroom (and c’mon, how cool is that!?!).
Casual Look:
Little Mermaid Tank Top from Wet Seal
I just had to include this tank top because it’s the cutest thing ever! I mean who doesn’t love the little mermaid? Anyway, I loved that this top is really colorful and comfortable for those days when you roll out of bed and don’t feel like thinking about your outfit (which if you’re like me, is everyday).
Floral Kimono from Wet Seal
Personally I really love Kimonos because they’re fun, comfortable, trendy, comfortable, have the ability to make any top school appropriate, and oh yeah, comfortable (I know I’ve said that a lot but comfort is a big thing for me).
Straight Regular Blue Jeans from H&M
Now if you’re looking for comfort, what’s better than a classic pair of jeans. This piece is classic, comfortable, and makes any outfit look more put together, os you really don’t have to worry about styling it.
All Black Converse Sneakers from Journey’s
Now here is a piece that takes the classic look and comfort of a sneaker, but makes it a little cooler. I personally love converse sneakers because they are comfortable and add a laid back, classic look to your outfit. I think that wearing sneakers are a great way to go on the first day of school, because you might do a lot of walking to find your classes, and it’s just easier on your feet, and one less thing you have to stress over.
White Polka Dot Jansport Backpack from Target
I love this backpack because it’s fun but not over the top (just in case that’s not your thing). Also, the fact that it’s white allows it to easily match just about any outfit, or if you’re a little more creative, you can customize it with stickers, draw on it, anything you want really (you gotta love a backpack that gives you options).
