YouTube Wednesday: Keegan Acton…the new beauty/fashion guru that YouTube is obsessing over

Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘YouTube Wednesday’ we’re going to talk about an incredible YouTuber who you will soon bekeegan acton addicted to. It can be really hard for a YouTuber to distinguish themselves because of all of the competition from the other great channels on the website. Once you see Keegan’s videos, it’s easy to figure out that she definitely stands out from the crowd. Not only is she knowledgeable about all of the topics that she discusses on her channel, but she’s also very entertaining to watch, has a natural on-camera presence, and she is able to engage her audience from the start of the video to the end. If you’re not already subscribed to her channel then you are definitely missing out. So please read on to discover the YouTuber that all your friends already love. Ready? Ok, let’s go!!!

The first video that we’re going to talk about is Keegan’s ‘Sephora and Charlotte Russe’ haul, which was uploaded on June 6th, 2013 (you can check out this video below). This video is the perfect introduction to Keegan’s channel because it shows us that she’s a natural born entertainer who can not only mesmerize her audience, but also leave them wanting to keep coming back to see more. I also love that this video is a haul because we get a glimpse at what Keegan’s personal style is like, which is a great way for her to connect with her audience. Next up we have her ‘First Impression | Nume Octo Wand’ video, which was uploaded on December 26th, 2013. First impression videos are great because we get to see what our fav YouTubers really think about a product without worrying that they’re just trying to get us to buy the product. In this video Keegan shows that she’s really good at reviewing products because she gives a very detailed review that tells us why the product is great, but does so in a way that allows us to figure out if this is the product for us.

Now we’re going to talk about Keegan’s ‘ My Braces Experience | EVERYTHING You Need To Know About Braces’ video, which was uploaded on March 17th, 2014. I think that one of the best things about YouTube is that we really get to know our favorite YouTubers in a way that makes us feel as if they’re our best friends. This video is a perfect example of that, because through this video Keegan is able to connect with all of her viewers who have braces, or will get braces in the near future. This is a MUST SEE video if you fall into either of these categories because Keegan is very detailed when she explains the process of getting braces put on, taken off, and everything in between. The final video that we’re going to discuss today is Keegan’s ‘ iPhone Case Collection 2015’ video, which was uploaded on June 22nd, 2015 (you can check out this video below). Personally I love watching iPhone case collections because you get to see some really cool cases and learn where to get them (gotta have more stuff to add to that letter to Santa). In this video we not only get to see some really cute phone cases (I seriously want all of them), but we once again get a glimpse into what Keegan’s personal style is, and how it has evolved. I really wish that I could have written about all of her videos because they’re all AMAZING, so I would definitely check out this channel if you want to give yourself an early Christmas present.

YouTube Wednesday: Lindsay Marie…your new favorite beauty/fashion/lifestyle guru

lindsay marieHello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘YouTube Wednesday’ we are going to talk about an amazing rising YouTube beauty/fashion/lifestyle star that y’all need to be subscribed to. If you haven’t heard of Lindsay Marie (aka lindsaylovesbeauty) then you are seriously behind on what new channels you should be obsessed with. Don’t worry I got you covered! So please read on to see why all of your friends will be subscribing to this awesome channel. Ready? Ok, let’s go!!!

The first video that we’re going to discuss is Lindsay’s ‘Bethany Mota Lookbook!’ video, which was uploaded on December 8th, 2013 you can check out the video below). I thought that this video was a great introduction to Lindsay’s channel, because we not only get to see Lindsay’s personality and natural on-camera charisma shine through, but we also get a sense of what her personal style is. It’s also really cool to see gurus showing love to other gurus, it’s one of the things that makes YouTube so great. One thing is for sure, you will definitely want to take fashion notes from Lindsay after seeing this video! The next video that we’re going to talk about is Lindsay’s ‘Morning Routine | First Day of School!’ video, which was uploaded on August 6th, 2014. What I think we all love about “routine” videos is that we get to know our fav YouTubers even better (and sometime we get cool ideas about décor, new foods to try, new Netflix shows to obsess over, etc.). If you want to check out a fun video that will help you unwind and maybe get some suggestions to add to your own school morning routine, then definitely check this video out.

Next up we have Lindsay’s ‘High School You Vs College You’ video, which was uploaded on July 19th, 2015 (you can check out the video below). I LOVED this video, because it is so funny, and very true. I know that everyone says “you change when you go to college”, “college is different than high school”, blah, blah, blah (and this is very true), but this video definitely does an AMAZING job of explaining some of the differences. I would definitely suggest you check out this video, because it will have you laughing and replaying the video again and again. The final video that we’re going to talk about is Lindsay’s ‘Back To School Clothing Haul 2015’, which was uploaded on July 30th, 2015. You knew that we couldn’t end this blog post without mentioning a haul. With Back To School season upon us, this is a video that can really be essentially when you’re trying to figure out what you want to buy for this school year. Hauls also help you discover new items, stores, and websites so you can find the best stuff to reflect who you want to be this school year. Once again, in this video we get to see Lindsay’s great on-camera presence, as well as her amazing sense of fashion. This is definitely a great video to check out before you finish your back to school shopping.

Monday Memos: Top 5 cartoons of the 90s that deserve a spin-off/continuation

Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘Monday Memos’ we are going to talk about something that I think we can all relate to. Now I know that you all remember getting up early on Saturday mornings and watching your favorite cartoons (this was probably the only time any of us ever voluntary woke up early). So with the recent trend of popular shows receiving spin-offs/continuations (such as ‘Digimon’, ‘Boy Meets World’, and ‘Full House’), I thought that this would be a good time to talk about a few cartoons that also deserve a spin-off/continuation. For the sake of time, I only chose 5 shows for this list (even though there are SOOO many more), so if y’all have any suggestions please comment below. Ok, are you ready? Let’s go!

5) DuckTales:

Ok honestly how could you not like this show? I mean it’s about the awesome adventures that Scrooge McDuck and his nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie (haha those names always crack me up) go on. This show is based off of the ‘Uncle Scrooge’ comics, and featured really awesome villains and additional characters such as Donald Duck. Now technically ‘DuckTails’ has already gotten two spin-offs (‘Darkwing Duck’ and ‘Quack Pack’), but these spin-offs featured some of the characters from ‘DuckTails’, not all of the characters. It’s also been 19 years since ‘Quack Pack’ (the last spin-off) aired, so I think it’s time for the ducks to return. I mean the ‘DuckTails’ theme song along should be enough proof of this show’s awesomeness.

4) Rocket Power

Ok now this is a show that I’m surprised hasn’t already gotten a spin-off. This show had an awesome mix of fun, life lessons, and kids doing awesome extreme sports. Anybody who watched ‘Rocket Power’ definitely wanted to be just like Otto and his friends (the characters on the show just in case you didn’t know). Another thing that really made this show awesome was the fact that we finally got a really cool female character in Reggie (Otto’s sister). Of course she dealt with boy/friend problems just like any girl, but she could also beat a lot of the guy characters on the show, and proved that being a tomboy can be very cool. Exciting adventures, cool characters, and awesome extreme sports, remind me again why this show hasn’t gotten a spin-off?

3) Hey Arnold!

Ok now you gotta love ‘Hey Arnold!’. What  I liked best about this show is that the characters were super relatable, and seemed like real kids so the plot lines of the show were believable. Whether you were cool like Gerald, slightly crazy but actually misunderstood like Helga, or completely average like Arnold, you found a character that could represent you on the show. Even though we love shows that have cool, crazy characters, in awesome situations, it definitely shows talent and courage for a network to make a show that’s just about regular kids dealing with regular life stuff. With not a lot of cartoons like this currently on air, it seems like the perfect time to shout out ‘Hey Arnold!’.

2) Animaniacs

Now this was a show that was wacky, fun, and a little weird at times, but honestly we loved every minute of it! This show was about three siblings named Yakko, Wakko, and Dot who were fictional 1930s cartoon stars, who were locked away in the Warner Bros. water tower until they escaped in the 1990s. Once the three escape they wreck havoc on the Warner Bros. lot. Yakko, Wakko, and Dot got into really hilarious situations by interacting with “studio employees” and other cartoon characters on the lot. What I liked most about this show is it had a cool mix of wacky humor, pop culture references, and more mature jokes that we probably didn’t get as kids. This show has had spin-offs but it was so unique that I think it deserves to entertain us again.

1) Recess

Lastly, but definitely not least, we have ‘Recess’ (aka the show about the BFFs you wished you had). This show was about a group of 6 fourth graders, who had adventures and dealt with life problems during everyone’s favorite time of the day…recess! The characters playground is a mini-world environment that has the stereotypical cliques, and a “government” complete with unwritten laws, and even a king. This was another show that had a wide range of characters that just about everyone could relate to. Whether you fit in more with T.J. the class clown, Spinelli the tomboy, Gretchen the nerd, or even Randall the snitch, you’ll definitely see yourself within this series. Even though ‘Recess’ had a few movies after the show ended, we only got to see the characters make it to the 5th grade. I say we need at least 1 more season so they can go to 6th grade, and then move on to middle school.
