Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘YouTube Wednesday’ we’re going to discuss another show that is getting a reboot. Now I know you’re probably thinking that the world has gone reboot and spin-off crazy, but this show is spinning this idea in a different way. If you watched Nickelodeon from 2004-2007, then I know that you remember the show ‘Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide’. This show starred Devon Werkheiser as a middle school kid named Ned Bigby, who gave us tips on how to survive all of the issues and problems that everyone faces in middle school. The show was very funny and entertaining, but honestly did give a lot of good advice that you could actually apply to everyday life. Unfortunately ‘Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide’ ended with the three main characters graduating to high school, and thus left us to face high school, college, and life on our own. Luckily due to fan demand, Devon is now back in a new YouTube series that will help is all learn how to survive life. Three episodes of the show are already up, and they are AMAZING! so if you’re ready let’s talk about this incredible new series. Ready? Ok, let’s go!!!
So far ‘Devon’s Life Survival Guide’ has covered the topics of: fame, working hard, and choosing your own destiny in life. The show airs new episodes on YouTube every Monday, and will definitely continue to cover topics that everyone deals with. Also, each episode opens with a very interesting quote that is related to the topic of the video. What I really love about ‘Devon’s Life Survival Guide’ is that the topics that it discusses are aspects of life that we all deal with or will deal with in the future. Whether you’re in school or not, we’re all trying to understand the things life throws at us and make the best of it. It’s cool to see someone who helped so many of us as kids continue to help us now that we’ve entered the “real world”.
Keep up with everything Devon is doing here:

Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘Monday Memos’ we are going to discuss two AMAZING YouTube video that we couldn’t stop talking about over the last 2 weeks. If you were young (or just loved Nickelodeon) between 1994 and 2008, then get ready for a major dose of Nostalgia as the internet reminds us of two shows that we couldn’t get enough of, All That and Zoey 101. Whether you grew up with one or both of these shows (or you became a fan after watching reruns of the shows), you will FREAK OUT when you see the two videos below. So now get ready to get hit right in the feels with a nostalgia brick. Ready? Ok, let’s go!!!
So let’s start things off with the first video that made us have serious flashbacks to 2005. YouTube was only 1 year old, the 1st iPhone wouldn’t be released for 2 years, but we all had 1 serious question on our mind. What did Zoey say about Chase in that DVD she hid in the time capsule. For a lot of people, Zoey and Chase were their 1st ship and since we knew that he liked her, we just needed to know how she felt, for our ship to sail. Unfortunately this would be a question that we wouldn’t know for 10 YEARS! Well our patience paid off because on September 18th we found out the answer. Now I’m sure most of you know what this means, but if you don’t please check out the video below, and let the fanfiction writing begin.
Now moving on, I think we can all agree that Jimmy Fallon is awesome. He’s funny, creative, and he understands our love of the internet and includes it in his show (seriously if you haven’t already, you gotta check out some of his whisper challenge video). But every entertainer usually has to have a day job before they get that “big break”, usually they work as waiters, employees at stores in the mall, or even at your local favorite burger place. In fact we recently found out that Jimmy Fallon used to work at a VERY famous burger place that holds a special place in all of our hearts, and will forever be a part of the history of the food industry. Can you guess where? Yup, GOOD BURGER! That’s what you guessed right? Yes, Jimmy Fallon had everyone who was a kid in the late 80’s and basically most of the 90’s FREAKING out when he brought back our fav comedic duo Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell for a Good Burger skit. As you can guess it was really hilarious, but if for some reason you haven’t checked out the video yet (or just want to see it again), please check out the video below.
Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘Monday Memos’ I am very excited to bring you an interview with voice actress Lara Jill Miller. You may know her best as ‘Kari’ on Digimon, ‘Clifford’ on Clifford’s Puppy Days, ‘Lambie’ on Doc McStuffins, and many other memorable roles. In this interview we talk about Lara’s career as a stage, on-camera, and voice actress, how she feels about reprising her Digimon Adventure Tri (let’s cross our fingers that the movies get a U.S. dub!), what to look out for from her next, and so much more! So now let’s get to the part that y’all came here for…the interview. Ready? Ok, let’s go!!!
Celinda: Hi Lara, first of all I want to thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to do this interview.
Lara: Thank you for asking me, Celinda.
Celinda: So I want to begin by asking you about your role as Amaryllis in the Broadway production of The Music Man, which starred Dick Van Dyke. What was it like to work with such an iconic actor at such an early stage in your career, and how do you think this experience shaped you as an entertainer?
Lara: Dick Van Dyke was amazing. So funny, so talented. I was so thrilled to meet him at my audition for the show, I couldn’t believe I was actually meeting the guy from CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG and MARY POPPINS! I was really little when I met him and I remember shaking his hand and seeing his really long feet in white sneakers, and then looking all the way up to his head, WAYYY up there.
Touring in the show, and then performing on Broadway was a spectacular experience overall. Traveling all over the US for the first time was really exciting. I love performing live and had a lot of experience in the years prior at a local dinner theatre in my hometown. Dancing and singing is a great joy of mine, and that made me realize I was born to do this.
Celinda: That sounds like such a cool experience! So, you’re widely known for your role as Samantha on the 6 seasons of the television show Gimme A Break. When the show ended Samantha was beginning her new life as a college student, and you also later earned a college degree yourself, so there was a very cool life imitating art aspect there. Were there any other similarities between you and Samantha, and how do you think growing up on the set of a sitcom shaped you as a person?
Lara: Well, I’m the youngest of 3 daughters, so there’s that. And I was pretty much a tomboy, but I certainly didn’t wear overalls like my character Samantha, NOR play with WORMS! I loved Nell as much as Samantha did. And well, when I got my braces off and got my hair cut, so did my character on TV!
Growing up on a set really made me – well – grow up. I learned a lot about responsibility, being professional, a great work ethic. And also I became a better performer over the years, comic timing and such. I also learned that when you’re a celebrity, people treat you differently, but that it can all change in an instant, so one should never take anything for granted. I loved and appreciated all the years on the show. Unlike many child stars, I really loved my life and came out unscathed, no drugs, no alcohol, nothing. My parents were wonderful and supportive and not pushy. I learned a lot about ‘show business’ – both parts: the show AND the business!
Celinda: Wow that is such a profound answer, and so true, many people forget about the business part of the industry. Well, a lot of your fans (myself included) might know you best from your role as Kari on Digimon. When it was announced that Digimon was coming back to continue the story of the 8 original characters, the internet went into a frenzy. How does it feel to have fans still get really excited about a project you did 15 years ago?
Lara: Love hearing from you and all the fans! Digimon was my first animated gig. Lots of great memories. And well, yah! It feels GREAT to hear that people love the project and love Kari. If the show comes back to the US for a US dub, I’d love to be the grown up Kari.
Celinda: I think I can speak for all of your fans when I say that we would love to hear you voice adult Kari. So, another voice-over role that a lot of fans know you from is Clifford’s Puppy Days, how did this experience differ from your experiences working on Anime?
Lara: Anime is dubbed after the fact. Clifford’s Puppy Days (and some of my other shows like Juniper Lee, Wubbzy, Curious George, SciGirls, Hugglemonsters, Doc, etc…oh, and also the new Nick show I’m working on…) are original animation. We record first and then they draw the character TO US… We CREATE the roles. And for most of these shows, we record together as a cast. That’s fun.
Celinda: That does sound really fun. One of the many shows that you’re working on at the moment is Doc McStuffins on Disney Junior. This show has been widely praised for it’s educational aspects, how does it feel to know that shows you’ve worked on such as Doc McStuffins and SciGirls are influencing your audience to become more interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) subjects?
Lara: I’m so honored and thrilled to be a part of these shows. Doc McStuffins is changing the world! Really! What a concept to be a part of such a big thing, right? I love playing Lambie. And Izzie on SciGirls – what a brilliant show! I hope that with both shows, we make a difference!
Celinda: I’m sure both shows will have a huge positive influence on your audience. So what are some of the major differences between preparing for a recording session for a voice-over project, versus an on-camera job?
Lara: Make-up…or lack thereof! And wardrobe. Although sometimes I like picking out cute outfits to record in… although they must be quiet clothes. You know, mic-worthy.
The thing with animation, we don’t have to memorize lines, but I do read the scripts, and prepare ad libs, etc, ahead of time. Also each week for Doc and Hugglemonsters we have to learn songs, harmonies. There’s a lot of preparation for that.
Celinda: Wow, I never would have thought about a lot of that, particularly the mic-worthy clothes. Lastly are there any upcoming projects that your fans should look out for, and is there anything that you would like to say to any of your fans who are reading this interview?
Lara: Oh yah! There’s a new Nickelodeon show! And… that’s about all I’m allowed to say right now! Go to my FB Page and/or follow me on Twitter for updates. I’m not THAT active on those social media pages, but I’m trying! And I love hearing from fans! The nice ones (which I’m SURE the ones reading this are!) And well, thanks for reading this. I feel very lucky that I get to do what I love to do and that so many people love what I do, too. Thank you for that.
Celinda: Thank you again for taking the time to speak with me Lara.
Lara: Thank YOU Celinda! And thanks again to all your readers for reading this!

Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘Monday Memos’ I have an awesome new interview with actor Ben Diskin for y’all to check out. If you’re a fan of shows such as: Naruto, Bleach, Codename: Kids Next Door, Hey Arnold, Zoey 101, and Digimon Fusion then you probably already know who Ben is (he’s done A LOT of other films/anime/other projects., it just would take too long to list them all). I had the amazing opportunity to ask Ben a few questions about his background, the acting industry, and his roles as Shoutmon and Cutemon on Digimon Fusion. So if y’all are ready, let’s jump into the interview!
Celinda: Hi Ben! So first of all, how did you first get into the entertainment industry?
Ben: I got into the entertainment industry while I was still a fetus. People think I’m joking when I say that, but it’s honestly true. Both of my parents are actors and while I was developing in my Mom’s womb, their agent told them he’d like to represent me when I was born. They signed the paperwork and I had representation before I’d taken my first breath.
Celinda: Wow that is such a cool story. So what do you wish you would have known about being an actor before getting into the business?
Ben: I really wish I’d known to keep my mouth shut. When you’re a kid and you don’t know any better, you want to tell all your friends about jobs you’re working on because you’re so excited about what you’ve just done. The trouble with that is it makes you look like a braggart and people make some pretty unfair judgements about your personality. As a kid, I told anyone who’d listen that I was in Kindergarten Cop with Arnold Schwarzenegger. This got out to the whole school and suddenly I’d made a bunch of new “friends.” These kids thought I was a movie star, rich, and really cool. Once it dawned on them that I was none of those things, they called me a liar, a brat, and a fake. I went from being popular to being teased mercilessly and it made me want to quit acting. To this day, I tend to keep my mouth shut about projects I’m working on because a part of me fears the same thing will happen.
Celinda: So how did you transition into voice acting?
Ben: I was with the CED (now CESD) Talent Agency since I was a baby and they’ve been one of the top dogs for VO work for several decades. One day I was approached by one of the voice over agents to do a radio spot audition. I didn’t know how to read very well at the time, so he had to dictate my dialogue to me and have me repeat it. My first major moment in voice over was doing an animated series called Problem Child (based on the movies with John Ritter.) When I realized that no one, not even my closest friends, recognized my voice coming from the cartoon character, I knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Being able to act without dealing with any of the “fame” was exactly what I was looking for.
Celinda: Very cool. So in your opinion, what’s the biggest difference between on-camera acting & voice acting?
Ben: Focus. When you’re acting on camera, there are several tools at your disposal. You have your expressions, your gestures, your body language, your blocking, and your voice to properly convey the emotions of your character. In voice over, you’re forced to focus on just one aspect of acting: the voice. With an on-camera character, I can subtly raise an eyebrow to convey suspicion. In voice over, you have to vocally convey that same subtle eyebrow raise. When everything is filtered through the voice, it can be like a blind man trying to understand the world using only touch and smell.
Celinda: So moving on to Digimon (which is currently airing its’ second season on Nicktoons), were you a fan before working on the franchise?
Ben: I was ABSOLUTELY a big fan of Digimon! I loved those shows!
Celinda: Since you were already a fan of Digimon, what was it like to work on a show that you had previously enjoyed as a viewer?
Ben: It was a major honor to get to work on this show. I’d been hoping Xros Wars would get a dub ever since it came out in Japan, but after a couple of years went by, I’d lost hope of that ever happening. When I got the audition, I freaked out. XD The show is a lot of fun to work on for me, since my major anime influence is Dragonball Z. I play a character who yells like crazy and it reminds me of why I wanted to do this in the first place.
Celinda: I just want to say that you do a terrific job voicing Shoutmon & Cutemon. Do you record their scenes in different sessions? (y’all can check out a clip of Shoutmon & Cutemon in Digimon Fusion below)
Ben: Thank you! We typically record all of one character’s lines and then go back to the beginning of the episode for a second pass to record the other.
Celinda: So Shoutmon & Cutemon’s voices sound so distinct, what process do you go through to prepare your voice so you can give each character a unique personality?
Ben: It depends on when we record the episode. The Cutemon voice is extremely finicky. I can’t do it too early in the morning or too late in the day. If it’s an early morning session, Shoutmon has to go first. Because he’s such a loud, scratchy-voiced character, his voice warms up my vocal cords so I can do Cutemon. If the session is in the afternoon, my voice is already warmed up from being awake all day and I’ll have to do Cutemon first before it gets too late. Doing Shoutmon at this point will actually stress my vocal cords too much and Cutemon will sound really scratchy and weird. As for giving them unique personalities, I feel like they’re written differently enough that it comes out naturally.
Celinda: Wow, that’s so interesting! So I know that you’ve voiced a lot of great characters throughout your career, is there a specific character that you haven’t already voiced that you would like to someday?
Ben: Ummm….……. You know, I never know how to answer this question. I look at each role I get as a small victory in and of itself. I don’t really lust after particular roles; I just see what life brings my way.
Celinda: Ok, so what advice do you have for anyone who wants to get into voice acting?
Ben: The voice acting industry is full of opportunities but it’s also very tricky to get started in. My best advice would be to make sure you understand what you’re getting involved in. If you want this to be your career, you’ll have to move to where the work is, take lessons, make connections, and struggle for years to get people to give you a chance even if you’re already very good. Making a career out of voice acting alone isn’t very common, so make sure you don’t overestimate your abilities. Just because your friends or family tell you you’re good at doing cartoon voices isn’t an indication that this is your future. Remember, if you’re going to be a voice actor, you have to be an actor. This isn’t “doing voices” or “doing impressions;” it’s acting. Can’t act? Don’t waste your time. It’s as simple as that.
Celinda: Lastly, is there anything you would like to tell your fans who are reading this interview?
Ben: Thanks a lot for watching Digimon Fusion!! Season 2 is airing right now on NickToons; go watch it!!!

Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘Monday Memos’ we are going back in time. This is a special blog post for all my fellow 90s kids who either grew up in the 90s, or just love the TV shows that were on-air during this decade. Of course, today’s generation has video sharing platforms like YouTube and will show up with completely different types of kind programs which aren’t even on TV – check it out here – but it’s nice to go back in time and look at what we grew up with before the digital age took over. Now I think we can all agree that there were a lot of AMAZING cartoons, sitcoms, and other TV shows that we just loved to tune into every week (now I know that there was a lot of great shows in other decades too but since I was a kid in this decade, I’m a bit biased. Y’all know that were all a little biased too the time we grew up in). Now we all know that there are some shows that came out during this time that we can’t forget, but there are others that we love, but may have forgotten how much we love them. So here goes a small list of some of the Top 6 TV shows of the 90s (know I know that there are SOOOO many more shows that deserve to be on this list, so if y’all like this blog post then I will definitely post another with YOUR fav 90s TV shows. Just comment below with your suggestions). Ok, let’s jump into the list! Now these shows aren’t in any particular order, because it’s really difficult to say that one of these shows is better than another (honestly they’re all equally AWESOME!). I also tried to include a wide variety of shows so there’s something for everyone!
Bill Nye The Science Guy:
Now everybody remembers this guy as one of their first science teachers. Bill Nye was able to make science fun and interesting. This show really had a cool formula of keeping our attention by fusing Bill Nye’s funny banter and knowledge of science into an unforgettable show that is truly showed us that being nerdy is always cool (and who could forget that theme song…Bill! Bill! Bill)
Boy Meets World:
Now this isn’t really a show that was easy to forget because it has always lived on in syndication, but I think that a lot of people really forget just how much they love this show. It was really awesome to be able to sit down with your family and watch a show that everyone enjoyed. Boy Meets World was a show where everyone could relate to a character, whether you were a Cory, Shawn, Topanga, Mr. Feeny, Eric, or Minkus. Through his show we learned about how to deal with everyday problems, and that the most important things in life are friends and family. We also all fell in love with the love story of Cory and Topanga (there still our example of the perfect OTP). When Girl Meets World was announced, everyone was really anxious to see the story continue, because these characters became our best friends over the 7 seasons they were on air. What was the best thing we got out of Boy Meets World though? The Feeny Call of course!
All That:
In the 90s there wasn’t a show that was much cooler than All That. The sketches were cool, the characters were funny, it was truly a kids’ version of SNL (Saturday Night Live). This show also brought us actors that we fell in love with such as: Kenan Thompson, Kel Mitchell, Nick Cannon, and of course, Amanda Bynes. It was fun to see a kid’s show that didn’t talk down to kids, and had jokes that were actually funny and memorable. We also got a lot of cool spin-off shows that stared members of the All That cast, and a sketch from the show even got turned into a movie. Does the phrase “Welcome to Good Burger” ring a bell? If it doesn’t congratulations, you’re a 90s K
Rugrats:
Now this is a show that only gets better the more times you watch it. Honestly who would have thought that seeing the world through the eyes of a baby would be so much fun? We laughed, we cried, and we actually learned some lessons about friendship and family. One thing that I really love about this franchise, is when the characters entered their preteen/teen years, the show was brought back with a new show that had our fav characters learning new life lessons. Now whether or not you liked the sequel, Rugrats: All Grown Up (personally I loved it), you have to admit that it was cool that the creators of the show aged the characters with the fans, so we got to enter those all too important/slightly awkward years with our favorite cartoon friends.
Digimon & Pokémon:
Now if you were a kid in the 90s, this was a serious debate. I mean for a lot of us this was our first experience being a part of a fandom, so you had to choose wisely. Personally I was a fan of both, but a lot of people said you had to take a side (I’m telling y’all this was serious business). Looking back it’s sort of funny that the world was divided into people who like Digimon & people who liked Pokémon, just like pop culture was divided into people who liked the Backstreet Boys & people who like NSync. This was the decade were shipping wars really became a big deal (and if you look on YouTube we still ship all the various characters from these shows). With both shows still going strong (and the recent announcement of a sequel to the first 2 seasons of Digimon…yay Digimon Adventure Tri!), we get to continue wishing we were digidestined & Pokémon masters.
Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘YouTube Wednesday’ we are going to discuss the new AwesomenessTV show ‘Life’s S.o. R.a.d.’, which centers around YouTube star Lia Marie Johnson (who we’ve previously featured on the blog, you can find the link to that post here YouTube Wednesday: Lia Marie Johnson, The next comedy genius/music star you need to know about | celindareyesblog) and Amanda Steele (aka MakeupbyMandy24). The show follows these two AWESOME youtubers as they help design AwesomenessTV’s ‘s.o. r.a.d.’ line which is now available at Kohl’s. The show is currently available on AwesomenessTV’s YouTube channel (which I’ll link at the bottom of the post), and is definitely a show that all YouTube fans will become addicted too. My favorite part of the show is seeing how these two very different girls were able to combine their styles and create a line that will appeal to all fashion lovers. In the rest of the post, we’ll talk about the show, and also discuss the line a little bit (which I suggest you all check out btw…trust me you’ll LOVE IT!). Also please check out YouTube stars/Island Records recording artists Cimorelli, whose new song ‘That Girl Should Be Me’ is the theme song to ‘Life’s S.o. R.a.d.’ (here’s a link to the official lyric video for the song That Girl Should Be Me Official Lyric Video – Cimorelli – YouTube). So are y’all ready? Let’s start!
Once I saw the ‘s.o. r.a.d.’ collection I instantly fell in love with SO MANY of the pieces. One of my fav pieces has to be the Teal Plaid Ponte Leggings; I absolutely love how these leggings incorporate the plaid trend, and also give you a fun staple piece that you can dress up and down in many different ways. With fall here and winter not far behind, I can definitely see these leggings as a great piece to wear if you’re hanging out at home (watching AwesomenessTV of course!), or hanging out with friends. Another piece that I really love is the Poorboy Ribbed Skimmer Crop Top. I love that the tops come in 6 really beautiful colors that I think will please everyone. Whether your style is edgy, girly, casual, or anything in between, you will want one (or all) of these tops. I also really love that the top is longer than a traditional crop top, which makes it perfect for fall/winter, but is also fitted enough to dress up any outfit. The final piece that I’m going to talk to y’all about is the Grandpa Cardigan. Now I promise that this cardigan will definitely NOT be something that you would find in your grandpa’s closet (but your grandma might steal it from you so be careful). This cardigan comes in three colors that are absolutely PERFECT for the fall/winter seasons. This cardigan also combines a fitted style with a comfortable fabric, which will help you dress up your look but still stay comfy (you gotta love it when beauty isn’t painful). I would definitely suggest that you all check out this AMAZING collection, because I know that you will find something (or lots of things) that you will instantly fall in love with (remember, it’s never too late to start your Christmas list…are you listening Santa?).
I really love this show because you get a cool sneak peek into what it’s Iike to design a clothing line. The show starts by showing a room tour of each girl’s personal bedroom, as they describe why these items help describe their personal styles. The following episodes show Amanda and Lia vintage shopping for ideas about the kinds of patterns and cuts they want for the pieces in the ‘s.o. r.a.d.’ collection, and lastly (at least for the episodes that are posted as of October 7th, 2014), they go through sketches of possible designs and give their input about how the sketches could be even more awesome. I really like that this series not only shows the process that Amanda and Lia went through to make the line, but also has the feel of the YouTube videos that made us fall in love with these girls in the first place. I think that it’s really cool that the line was designed by two girls that are not only fun and fashion forward, but also have very different styles. One of the things that made this line so cool to me is the diversity within it. Honestly there is something for EVERYONE, so no matter what your style is; you will still look so rad!

Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘YouTube Wednesday’, we are going to do something a little different. Usually, we talk about amazing musicians and beauty/fashion/lifestyle gurus who are either already taking over YouTube, or are on the verge. Today instead of discussing an individual rising star, we are going to discuss a YouTube Network that is giving these stars a place where they can showcase their Awesomeness. If you haven’t already guessed, we are talking about the YouTube channel ‘AwesomenessTV’!!! AwesomenessTV has showcased some of our favorite stars such as: Fifth Harmony, Austin Mahone, 5SOS, The Vamps, Bethany Mota (you can find the blog post about her here: YouTube Wednesday: Bethany Mota, the beauty guru who proved that positivity is always in style | celindareyesblog), Ingrid Nilsen (aka Missglamorazzi, you can find the blog post about her here: YouTube Wednesday: Missglamorazzi…the beauty/fashion/health guru who likes her glamour with a side of fun! | celindareyesblog ), and many more. This network has also been a launching pad for many new stars who we love (and we’ve even discussed some of them previously on this blog site). Some of these stars include: Hunter March, Lauren Elizabeth, Meagan Dowling (blog post located here: YouTube Wednesday: Meaghan Dowling… a star on the rise and someone you need to know!!! ), Meghan Rienks( aka meghanrosette, you can find the blog post about her here: YouTube Wednesday: meghanrosette, the witty beauty/fashion/lifestyle guru that you will want to be BFFs with!!! | celindareyesblog ), Teala Dunn (the blog post about her is here: YouTube Wednesday: Teala Dunn…the actress/YouTube star that is fusing old and new media to make her mark | celindareyesblog), Lia Marie Johnson (please click here YouTube Wednesday: Lia Marie Johnson, The next comedy genius/music star you need to know about | celindareyesblog), and so many more. So whether you’ve been a fan of this network since its YouTube beginnings, or you fell in love with this network later, please read on to learn all about the YouTube network that has become a hub for finding and developing the next generation of YouTube stars.
AwesomenessTV uploaded their first video on their YouTube channel on May 8th, 2012. The video was entitled ‘Randomness – The Lil’ Dictator Part 1’ (Randomness – The Lil’ Dictator Part 1 – YouTube). ‘The Lil’ Dictator’ is a skit about a young dictator who arrives at a school and begins making demands for the teacher to give him A’s, and the students to work as footstools. The skit was really interesting, and definitely was a good representation of what sort of work would eventually show up on the channel. If you loved shows with comical skits such as: ‘All That’ (Nickelodeon) and ‘So Random’ (Disney Channel), then you will love AwesomenessTV’s skits. Fans of Saturday Night Live would also love this channel’s skits, because many of the skits share the same sort of comedy found in Saturday Night Live, only tailored towards kids. Although AwesomenessTV has a lot of really funny skits, they also have many other shows that explore: fashion, beauty tricks/myths, music, reality shows, the behind the scene lives of celebrities, teen topics, entertainment news, and much more (so basically you’ll definitely find something you love on this channel). One of my favorite shows on AwesomenessTV is their talk show IMO (which is now in a different format), where various teen & young adult actresses and YouTubers discuss topics that are important to teen girls such as makeup, fashion, bullying, friends, and of course boys (all fan girls can relate to this one…here’s the trailer to get an idea about what the shows is about IMO official trailer on Awesomeness TV – YouTube).
If fashion and beauty are more your thing, then AwesomenessTV has you covered with shows such as: Make Me Over, Makeup Mythbusters, Nail Pop, and many more incredible shows (including numerous vlogs from some of your fav beauty/fashion gurus). I really enjoyed Make Me Over, because you got to see some of your fav beauty gurus (such as Bethany Mota and Missglamorazzi)take regular girls and tech them (with the assistance of their glam squad), how to create makeup, hair, and fashion looks that would convey a certain style, or was appropriate for a certain event (here’s the first episode of Season 1 with Bethany Mota, who hosted this particular season Make Me Over – Macbarbie07 Makes Over Tahara – Make Me Over Ep.1 – YouTube). Makeup Mythbusters is another really cool AwesomenessTV show where beauty/fashion/lifestyle guru Maybaby (aka Meg DeAngelis)and a guest try out several “beauty tricks” to see if this trick will do what it promises or not.
If you love entertainment news, then catch AwesomenessTV’s own Ryan Seacrest in training…Hunter March! Hunter’s personality contains just the right combination of funny, awkward, and of course awesomeness, to make him someone that you’ll want to tune in and watch every day. Hunter also has a show called #DearHunter on AwesomenessTV, where he answers all of your questions from a guy’s perspective (that’s priceless information you guys, here’s a link to the first episode How do you tell a guy you like him? #DearHunter – Ep. 1 – YouTube).
AwesomenessTV also has a lot of original shows such as: Terry The Tomboy (a series starring Lia Marie Johnson, which has also been turned into a hilarious Nickelodeon movie), Runaways (an action packed crime show about two young teens who have ran away, and the secrets that are exposed because of this, here’s a link to episode1 RUNAWAYS – Season 1 Episode 1 – YouTube…trust me you’ll LOVE it), Side Effects (a musical drama that is kinda hard to fully describe so I’ll just let you discover how amazing this show is by clicking on episode 1 here Side Effects Season 1 – Official Full-Length Episode – YouTube, this series also stars YouTube musician Chester See!), The Andrea and Jenn Show (which is a reality show that follows the lives of YouTubers Andrea Russett (aka gettoxfabxforever), and JennXPenn, here’s episode 1 for y’all Andrea & Jenn go APARTMENT HUNTING – THE ANDREA & JENN SHOW ep. 1 – YouTube), and the newest show that I’ve been OBESSED with which is called ‘Meghan and Lauren’s GUIDE TO DATING’ (which follows YouTubers Meghan Rienks and Lauren Elizabeth, as they navigate the hilarious adventure of dating…trust me, once you watch the first episode, you will be hooked WHERE TO MEET GUYS!? – Meghan Rienks and Lauren Elizabeth’s GUIDE TO DATING – YouTube).
So as y’all can see this channel has EVERYTHING! There is so much more that we could talk about, but I would have you guys here for hours if we went through everything. Personally, I have watched AwesomenessTV ever since IMO first premiered in 2012, and ever since then, I have clicked on the channel everyday to see what amazing new show is waiting for me. Some of the shows I mentioned in this post may no longer be airing new episodes, or may be in a different format, but trust me when I say, there is ALWAYS something new to watch on AwesomenessTV. Along with the shows I mentioned, there are live performances from your fav stars and YouTubers, and reality shows about cheerleading teams, dance teams, and so much more. No matter what your interests are, you will find something on AwesomenessTV. In July of 2013, AwesomenessTV also started airing on Nickelodeon (it airs on Saturday nights at (9:30 pm PST , but check your local listings just in case it’s a different time where you live) where you can see your fav YouTube and TV stars performing funny skits on your TV screen, honestly what could be better!?! I am very excited to see where AwesomenessTV goes from here, and what talented, funny, and yes, AWESOME new stars this amazing YouTube channel will introduce to us next!

Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘YouTube Wednesday’ we are going to talk about an actress who is making a HUGE name for herself on multiple YouTube platforms. If you’ve seen the TBS hit ‘Are We There Yet?’, or various other hit TV shows, then you will know exactly who I’m talking about, but just in case…it’s Teala Dunn. At the very young age of 17, Teala has had a career that has spanned more than 10 years, and is now adding YouTube star to her detailed resume. With appearances on the hit YouTube channel ‘AwesomnessTV’, as well as maintaining her own highly successful channels, Teala is taking over the industry, and is definitely one to watch. So, if you want to know more about this talented girl, then read on! Oh go on, you know you want to!!!
Teala began her professional career in 2002 with a guest starring role on the TV mega hit ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’. She then had a 3 year stint as the character of ‘Tuck’ on the popular NickJr. (a branch of the Nickelodeon network) animated show ‘WonderPets!’). During her time on the show, Teala also had roles in the films ‘Phoebe in Wonderland’ and ‘Enchanted’, as well as the highly popular Nickelodeon show ‘The Naked Brothers Band’, and the dramedy ‘Queens Supreme’. After ‘WonderPets!’ ended, Teala went on to co-star on the popular TBS sitcom ‘Are We There Yet?’. Once ‘Are We There Yet’ wrapped, Teala had guest starring roles on the hit Disney Channel shows ‘Shake It Up’, ‘Dog With A Blog’, and the CBS sitcom ‘The Crazy Ones’, among others (so basically Teala’s been working steadily in TV and Film since 2005…yeah that’s impressive!).
On August 17th, 2010 Teala uploaded her first video on her channel ‘Tealaxx2’. The video was a makeup tutorial for middle/high school aged girls (Back to school makeup look. For (high school and middle school) – YouTube). I really enjoyed this tutorial, because it was informative, and Teala showed her ease in front of a camera. I also really liked that the majority of the products that Teala used were drugstore products, and thus easy for most middle/high school girls to buy. I thought that the look was perfect for school, the summer time, or if you just want a very natural look. The next video that we’re going to discuss is Teala’s ‘Makeup Collection’ video (Makeup Collection 2013 ? – YouTube). I found this video perfect for anyone who loves makeup, or is new to makeup and wants some suggestions. I loved how organize Teala is with her makeup, and if you have a large makeup collection, you can definitely get some suggestions from this video. Another aspect of the video that I really liked was the fact that Teala’s makeup collection contains both high end products, and drugstore makeup. I found that this makes Teala’s collection seem more obtainable by her fans. The final video that I am going to talk about in this section is Teala’s ‘Morning Routine’ video (Morning Routine: Spring 2014 PLUS GIVEAWAY!!! – YouTube). I choose this video, because it’s like Twitter come to life! Seriously, you all know that Twitter was invented for us to obsess over what our favorite celebrities do in their day to day lives…that’s what it’s for right? I’m not alone in that right??? Good, I’m glad you all stalk your favorite celebrities on Twitter too…internet high five! Moving on…I really thought that all Teala Dunn fans would enjoy this video, because you get to see a few more products that Teala uses every day, and at the end of the video you can enter a contest and get free stuff (I think the contest might be closed by now, but Teala does a lot of contests and giveaways, so I would look out for them)!
Along with her ‘Tealaxx2’ channel, Teala also has another channel (TTYLTEALA) where she occasionally vlogs, does behind the scenes videos, and so much more. The video I choose to profile from this channel was the behind the scenes video Teala did on the set of the ‘AwesomnessTV’ show ‘IMO’ Awesomeness. – YouTube (which stands for In My Opinion). In this video, you get to see all of the fun and craziness that happens on a set, and you also get small glimpses of other famous YouTubers that I have profiled, such as Meaghan Dowling, and Bethany Mota. I thought that this video was really fun to watch, and allowed Teala to really show her personality. Speaking of ‘AwesomnessTV’, if you didn’t already know, you can catch Teala on a few of the shows on ‘AwesomnessTV’, such as: ‘IMO’, ‘How To Be A YouTube Star’ (in this first episode of the series, you can learn how to make a vlog How To Make a Vlog with Teala Dunn – How To Be A YouTube Star Ep. 1) , and a number of the skits on the channel (such as this one that lets you know whether or not you are addicted to YouTube…based off of the title of this blog post, you can tell that I am Addicted to YouTube with Teala Dunn & Meg Deangelis)
So as you can see, Teala Dunn can pretty much succeed on whatever media of entertainment she chooses. I think that Teala has proven that she is not only a talented individual, but also a very smart business woman, due to the fact that she has taken advantage of traditional media (TV and Film), as well as the new media outlet YouTube, to advance her career. With brains, talented, and an ever growing fan base, it is VERY safe to bet that Teala Dunn will be around for YEARS to come (and we wouldn’t want it any other way).
