Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘YouTube Wednesday’ we’re going to talk about an amazing channel that’s a little different than what we usually discuss. I think the coolest thing about YouTube that draws us all to it is that everyone is able to find interesting, entertaining people who share our interests and obsessions. Whether you love amazing covers, unique beauty/hair tutorials, hilarious comedians, or anything in between you’ll find the perfect channel to subscribe to. Today we’re going to talk about an incredible Booktube channel called abookutopia (which features a seriously entertaining self-proclaimed book-o-holic named Sasha) so if you love books and/or anything book related then you’re going to want to keep reading. Ready? Ok, let’s go!!!
The first video that we’re going to talk about is Sasha’s ‘Divergent Book Trailer’, which was uploaded on July 11th, 2013 (you check out this video below) is a really fun skit that all Divergent fans will love! Sasha does a great job of showing that not only is she very knowledgeable about this amazing book, but she also has the ability to instantly mesmerize her audience and keep us interested throughout the video. In a world where most people have a VERY short attention span (I mean honestly why do you think we love Vine so much), it’s interesting to find someone that makes you want to watch their videos and not worry about the length of the video. The next video that we’re going to talk about is Sasha’s ‘Interview with Melissa Landers!’, which was uploaded on May 28th, 2014. This is a really fun interview to watch because it is extremely well executed, and demonstrates Sasha’s natural on-camera charisma and fun-loving nature. She has a lot of other really interesting interview with various authors on her channel so I would definitely check them all out!
The next video that we’re going to talk about is Sasha’s ‘If You Like This…| BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS!’ video, which was uploaded on February 5th, 2015. If you are a HUGE book lover (c’mon you know everyone reading this blog post should have their hand up in the air right now…yes you too), then you’ll want to watch this video on replay. In this video Sasha picks a really interesting and diverse group of books, and not only tells you which books you should check out that are similar to these books, but also why they’re similar. The final video that we’re going to talk abut is Sasha’s ‘My Playster eBook Library Tour!’ video which was uploaded on December 7th, 2015 (you can check out this video below). In the past few years everything we enjoy has gone digital and mobile, from handheld/mobile video games, to our music, movies, and even books. Unfortunately sometimes we are just so busy that we may not have time to actually pick up a physical copy of a book and let our inner bookworm go wild. Luckily, e-books solve this problem by allowing us to take digital copies of our favorite books with us anywhere through the use of a phone, tablet, and other devices. In this video Sasha tells us all about the website playster.com, and goes through her personal Playster eBook library. if you want to check out a new site where you can find e-books, movies, music, and games, or if you just want recommendations on new books to check out, then this is the video for you!
Keep up with everything Sasha is doing (and reading here):

Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘Monday Memos’ we are going to discuss our predictions for who will win at the Teen Choice Awards this year. I picked 6 categories and choose who will most likely win based off of how well this particular person/movie/act did this past year. Even though the competition is really stiff I think that we have 6 winners here, but if y’all disagree, please let me know in the comments below. So now let’s get to the fun part! Are y’all ready? Ok, let’s go!!!
Choice Movie: Action The Divergent Series: Insurgent
Now y’all all know that we were all patiently waiting for Insurgent to come out, and when it did, we were not disappointed. The movie made 295.2 million at the Box Office, and stars SO MANY of our favorite actors (and some up and comers that we’re all excited about), honestly how could this movie not win!?!
Choice Music: Male Artist Sam Smith
I mean do we even need to discuss this one? This year Sam Smith has won 4 Grammys (including Best New Artist), British Breakthrough Act at the Brit Awards, 3 awards at The Billboard Music Awards, and Best New Artist at the BET Awards. So needless to say, we’re loving Sam Smith right now.
Choice Music: Female Artist Taylor Swift
We can all agree that we’re still singing along to 1989 (which went #1 in sooo many countries I can’t even name them all here). Honestly, Taylor Swift is one of the most powerful acts in pop music at the moment, so it only makes sense that she wins this award, because she’s Taylor Swift and she’s awesome.
Choice Summer Song: ‘Bad Blood’ Taylor Swift feat. Kendrick Lamar
This song is one that we hear on the radio ALL the time at the moment, and we still love it. This single was so big, that the music video for the song opened up the 2015 Billboard Music Awards (which you can check my recap of here: 2015 Billboard Music Awards Recap). So needless to say, it wouldn’t surprise me if this song won.
Choice TV: Drama Show Empire
Honestly from the moment this show came out, we were hooked. The show has drama, music, interesting characters, complex storylines, and way too much awesomeness for us to even begin to discuss. Even though this is an EXTREMELY tough category ( I mean you have Pretty Little Liars, The Fosters, and others competing), I think that Empire will take this one home.
Choice TV: Reality Show Dance Moms
Whether you love this show (or love to hate watch it), EVERYONE knows about Dance Moms. Dance Moms has already won this year at the Kid’s Choice Awards for Favorite Reality Show, and with the growing popularity of all of the girls, their moms, and of course Abby, it’s VERY likely that they’ll take home a surfboard this year.

Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘YouTube Wednesday’ we are going to discuss the 2015 ‘MTV Movie Awards’. The show was hosted this year by comedian/actress Amy Schumer, who definitely made this year’s award show a memorable one. The show began with a hilarious series of skits which showed Amy as a character in some of the biggest movies of the year. These skits included the movies: ‘Pitch Perfect’, ‘Divergent’, ‘The Fault In Our Stars’, and ‘The Hunger Games’. There were a few more hilarious jokes about the shows on MTV, and the fact that MTV has TV shows now instead of just playing music videos all day. Amy also made some really funny jokes about actor/comedian Kevin Hart’s release of non-stop movies lately, and Hillary Clinton finally giving the announcement we’ve all been waiting for…she’s the newest member of One Direction (just kidding, but wouldn’t that be awesome?!?). So now that we’ve discussed the opening of the show, then let’s move on to the awards. Ready? Ok, let’s go!
Awards (I only choose a few awards to talk about because I didn’t want y’all to be here all day, so y’all can check out the complete list of winners here MTV Movie Award Winners):
Best Action Hero (this award was announced before the show began): Dylan O’Brien ‘The Maze Runner’ Now even though we don’t really need to explain why ‘The Maze Runner’ deserves this award (even though the competition was VERY stiff) but one reason would definitely be that the film grossed over $340 million worldwide, since its’ release in September of 2014 (not bad for a movie that had a budget of $34 million). With the success that this film would already have because of the success of the book series (which the movies are based off of), and Dylan’s popularity because if his role on Teen Wolf, there was never a doubt that this movie would do extremely well. Best Female Performance: Shailene Woodley ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ Ok we all know why Shailene won this one! I mean Hazel and Gus are still playing with our emotions, and wow that movie is such so amazing and intense. This was the first in a LONG line of awards Shailene would win last night, and honestly she definitely deserved this one. Trailblazer Award: Shailene Woodley Honestly right now it’s a good time to be Shailene Woodley. In the past few years she’s been an action hero in the Divergent series, a teenager who’s world gets turned upside down when her mom “leaves” her and secrets start coming out, a love struck teenager battling cancer (thanks again John Green for giving us an ending we’ll never recover from), and so many other memorable characters. It’s obvious that this is just the beginning of Shailene Woodley’s Hollywood takeover, and I don’t know about y’all, but I am SOOOO excited to see what her next project will be. Generation Award: Robert Downey Jr. I think we can all agree that Robert Downey Jr. has such an interesting story due to his tremendous film success in the 80s & early 90s, followed by his comeback in 2003. Most of us probably know him for his work in Iron Man, Tropic Thunder, The Avengers, and so much more! Now of course we also know about his past with drug and alcohol addiction, but I think that the fact that he was able to bounce back and become such a respected actor (because honestly that’s not an easy task to pull off), is a real testament to his talent. Best Kiss: Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ Ok honestly I think we would’ve all been mad if anyone else won this award because Gus and Hazel are #relationshipgoals, they just are. This couple made us laugh, cry, question our place in the universe, and learn a lot of really big words, so of course they would win best kiss. I mean they were just too cute, I just can’t y’all…you just gotta love Hazel and Gus. Best Male Performance: Bradley Cooper ‘American Sniper’ I think that it’s definitely so much harder for an actor when they have to portray a real person verses a fictional character, so Bradley Cooper certainly showed us his acting chops with this film. In American Sniper Bradley Cooper portrayed U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, and the fact that this film grossed over $540 million worldwide with a $58.8 million budget (which made it the highest-grossing film of 2014 in the United States), shows that audiences just fell in love with Bradley Cooper’s work in this movie. When this film came out EVERYONE wanted to see it, so I don’t think we were surprised that he walked away with this win. Comedic Genius: Kevin Hart With movies like: ‘Think Like A Man’, ‘Ride Along’, ‘About Last Night’, his stand-up act (and honestly so much work that I would have y’all here all day), we are all very familiar with how funny Kevin Hart is. All amazing comics have their moments when they just rule comedy, and right now is definitely the era of Kevin Hart. So prepare because apparently “if he sees his shadow then we get 6 more months of Kevin Hart movies”, thanks for the tip Amy Schumer. Movie of The Year: ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ Ok if Hazel and Gus are #relationshipgoals, then ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ is definitely #moviegoals, because this film is just so utterly perfect. I mean like I said before, this movie made us feel all of our emotions at once, and then made us question everything about life. I mean I read the book so I knew what was going to happen and this movie still made me cry at the end (I’m still not ready to talk about that ending y’all, it’s just too soon). I think that this movie is definitely the movie of the year, and now we just have to wait and see how John Green’s latest book turned film ‘Paper Towns’ does (I know, I know, we’re all super excited!).
