YouTube Wednesday: Wotso Videos…if you’re a fun person then this channel has the videos for you

Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘YouTube Wednesday’ we’re going to discuss Wotso Videos, a very cool YouTube channel that you DEFINTELY need in your life. If you love pop culture, Disney, and numerous other fun topic then this is the channel you need to be subscribed to right now. I’m serious, take a moment and subscribe to this channel right now I’ll wait right here for you. Have you already subscribed? Good! If you still need convincing then please read on. Ready? Ok, let’s go!!!

The first video that we’re going to discuss is Wotso’s ‘How did Gill get his scar video’, which was posted on June 29th, 2016. This video is apart of Wotso’s ‘Discovering Disney’ series, and explains his theory as to why Gill from ‘Finding Nemo’ has a scar. The video is not only entertaining and fun, but also very factual and thought provoking (without making you feel llike you’re back in school). If you love Disney theories (and honestly who doesn’t love ANYTHING related to Disney) then you’ll want to check out the many other videos in this series. The next video that we’re going to discuss is Wotso’s ‘ Ariel Ruled Cindrella’s Kingdom’, which was uploaded on November 15th, 2016 (you can check out this video below). This video discusses the theory that Ariel is Cinderella’s mother-in-law. When I first saw the title of this video, it intantly intrigued me because how cool would it be if these two Disney princesses were actually connected. Although I won’t spoil the video for you, I will say that Wotso brings up some very interesting points in this video, that will really make you question how the other Disney princesses might be connected. Maybe we just don’t know that mouse as well as we thought we did.

Next up we have Wotso’s ‘How Magic Works in Harry Potter! Why Are Spells Spoken And When Do Wizards Need Wands’, which was uploaded on November 22nd, 2016. THis is another entertaining and well thought out video that all Harry Potter fans will fall in love with. Honestly I never really thought abiout the fact that some magical beings say spells and use wands, while others use a wand but perform spells non-verbally, and others don’t use either tool. As any Harry Potter fan knows, J.K. Rowling has always been very detailed with her work so I honestly believe that this video touches upon a lot of info that J.K. must have considered while writing her books. Eithier way this is a fun video for all of us muggles who are dying for another taste of the wizarding world. The last video that we’re going to discuss is Wotso’s ‘Belle Has Stockholm Syndrome?’ video, which was uploaded on March 14th, 2017 (you can check out the video below). This video touches upon a infamous question that has floated around the internet for YEARS. Again I’m not going to spoil the video by revealing Wotso’s position on the question, however I will say that he does a very good job of explaining his position and has definitely convinced me that he’s correct. If you want an answer to the ‘Beauty and The Beast’ question that is as old as time, then definitely check out this video right away!

Monday Memos: The Lion King story continues with The Lion Guard

Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘Monday Memos’ we are going to talk about a new movie/series that will hit your TV screens veryThe Lion Guard soon. If you liked ‘The Lion King’ (and honestly who doesn’t?), then get excited because all of your fav characters are coming back in the new movie/series ‘The Lion Guard’. ‘The Lion Guard’ is a continuation of the stories from ‘The Lion King’ 1 & 2, but will revolve around the adventures of Simba’s (the main character from the original ‘Lion King’ son Kion. The story of Kion will kick off in November of this year with a movie, and then continue as a series (both of which will air on Disney Junior). It has already been confirmed that some characters from ‘The Lion King’ 1 & 2 will be seen in the movie/series. So let’s talk a little bit about this new instalment in the beloved ‘Lion King’ franchise. Ready? Ok, let’s go!!!

I think that it’s really cool that ‘The Lion King’ story is going to continue. The movies/TV shows that have followed the original movie have definitely added to the story in interesting ways, so I’m excited to see where ‘The Lion Guard’ takes us next. Since the original movie was released in June of 1994 (which is over 21 years ago…wow!), it’s cool that this story will now bring this franchise alive once again for young kids today (since the movie/show is going to premiere on Disney Junior, you can assume the target audience will be younger kids…and older kids that pretend that their still 5…right? Right!). So what do y’all think of this idea? How do you think that ‘The Lion Guard’ will add to ‘The Lion King’ franchise? Are you going to watch it? Please leave a comment below to let me know what you think people of the internet!

YouTube Wednesday: The AMAZING channel that teaches you “How To Cook That”

Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘YouTube Wednesday’ we’re going to talk about everybody’s FAVORITE how to cook thatsubject…food! I thought that it would be cool to mix it up today (with a channel you may or may not already be familiar with) and discuss an AMAZING YouTube channel called ‘How To Cook That’ (featuring the culinary genius Ann Reardon), where you will learn how to make the coolest desserts ever. Whether you’re a pro in the kitchen, or you burn cereal (it’s ok, you can admit it…yup you right there…moving on…), you’ll love all the recipes on this channel. So now let’s get to the deliciousness! Just a quick note, some of these desserts are easier to make than others, so if you don’t see a video in this post that grabs your interest, check out the rest of the channel, and I’m sure you’ll find something awesome. Ready? Ok, then let’s go!!!

The first video that we’re going to talk about is the ‘Easy Macaroon Recipe’ video, which was uploaded on April 24th, 2012. I thought that this was a good video for us to kick this post off with because macaroons are a really popular dessert right now, so this is a great video to watch if you want to impress all your friends with this sweet treat. The video is very easy to follow, and you even learn how to fix common mistakes that may happen when trying to make this dessert. You got love a video that this user friendly and kind to culinary newbies. Ok, next up we have the ‘Mickey Mouse Cupcakes’, which was uploaded on February 15th, 2013 (you can check out the video below). Now this recipe is a little more time consuming, but once again the video is very easy to follow. What I loved most about this video is that you not only learn how to make really cool (and edible) Mickey decorations, but you also end up with the Mickey head symbol IN the cupcake. How cool is that!!! This is the PERFECT recipe for a class party, or if you just want a really cool dessert that will make you look awesome.

Now we’re going to talk about the ‘YouTube play button cake’, which was uploaded on May 23rd, 2014. This definitely looks like a difficult dessert to make (because there are A LOT of steps), but as always the video is detailed enough so you probably won’t get lost. I just thought that this was SUCH a cool video that is definitely worth trying out. Also, what would a ‘YouTube Wednesday’ post be if we didn’t include a YouTube themed cake. This is another dessert that is beautiful and delicious so you gotta love art that you can eat. Right? Right! Ok, the final video that we’re going to talk about is the ‘Inside Out Cake’ video, which was uploaded on August 14th, 2015 (you can check out the video below). Now don’t be intimidated by how the cake looks, because the video actually explains the process in such great detail, that it actually seems like something you can replicate. This recipe is time consuming, but if you can do it, then you will definitely be master of the birthday cake, because this cake is SO AMAZING. Also, the characters on the top of the cake are toys so you don’t have to worry about embracing your inner Picasso by trying to make the characters yourself. If you love cake, desserts with A LOT of sugar, the movie Inside Out, or all of the above, then you GOTTA try out this recipe!

YouTube Wednesday: The Robin William’s tribute video that reminds us that we ain’t never had a friend like him

robin williams picHello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘YouTube Wednesday’, we are going to talk about a YouTube video that you just gotta see! On April 13th, 2015, actor/Vine star Jamie Costa uploaded a tribute video to legendary actor/comedian Robin Williams (who passed away in 2014). In the video, Jamie portrays many of Robin Williams’ most beloved characters, and even uses uses costumes to really get into these characters. In the description of the video, Jamie states that he wanted to make this video (which is titled “Never Had a Friend Like Him,”), as “my tribute to the man whose spark ignited my passion,”. I definitely think that Jamie did such an amazing job in portraying these characters, so let’s talk about a couple of these impressions below. Ready? Ok, let’s go!

Even though there are so many AMAZING impressions to talk about let’s go ahead and start with a film that I know everyone has seen more times than they can count, ‘Mrs. Doubtfire’. This is definitely one of Robin Williams’ really fun films, because of his character Daniel Hillard, who has to pretend to be an elderly woman in order to get a job as a nanny so he can see his kids (he and his ex wife are going through a custody hearing and he doesn’t feel he gets to see his kids enough). This movie is full of so many hilarious moments, but I really liked the one that Jamie decided to take on, which was the scene where Mrs. Doubtfire uses a pie as a disguise (check out this moment at 1:40 in the video). Of course we have to end this post with the character of the Genie from Aladdin because, well he’s so awesome! This is one of those roles that I think is really special because in the movie the Genie is funny, wacky, witty, and honestly a friend we all wish we had. At 1:33 we get a small snippet of one of the scene were we first meet the Genie, and of course the classic line “You ain’t never had a friend like me”. These moments definitely remind us of how much we’re going to miss Robin Williams on the big screen. Check out the full video below!

Monday Memos: The top 5 movies that made our life a lie

Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘Monday Memos’ we are going to discuss the top 5 lies that movies have told us. Now we have seen movies and thought “One day my life will be like that”, and then we grow up and well…it doesn’t happen. But, we still love these movies just the same because everyone needs a little escape right? Right! Also, I just want everyone to know that I actually really love all of the following movies, I just thought that this would be a funny little blog post to make your Monday just a little more enjoyable! So, please read on and let me know what lies movies have told y’all.

5) Lilo and Stitch

This fun cartoon taught us that if you’re different and don’t have any friends, the universe will bring you a friend who happens to be an alien. You’ll go on a crazy adventure with this friend, but in the end all of your problems will be solved and life will be a lot better. I wish that this would actually happen, because who wouldn’t love an alien as a pet right?

4) Mean Girls

Since we’re on the subject of misfits; let’s talk about everyone’s fav movie about the horrors of high school. Mean Girls teaches us that if you’re new, then you should pretend to be friends with the mean/popular girls in school, use their own tactics to backstab them, then actually become the head mean girl. You should then turn on the only “real” friends you actually had in the school, and then some dramatic things will happen where everyone begins to hate you. In the end you just have to say you’re sorry and everything will be fine, and life will be better than ever before. Yeah…unfortunately this usually doesn’t happen.

so fetch

3) Forrest Gump

Now this movie teaches us that if you happen to always be in the right place at the right time then you will get to meet really famous people and witness historical events. You will then get to go on a lot of amazing adventures, and later become a millionaire. Also, if you hold on long enough to someone who may or may not really be capable of truly loving you, then eventfully they will end up with you…and then they will die. But that’s ok because life is a box of chocolates…right?

2) Harry Potter

This franchise taught us that even if your life sucks, a giant will one day find you and tell you that you are actually a really rich wizard. You will then spend the next few years fighting a psychopath that has been trying to kill you ever since you were born. In the end you will have to kill this crazy person, and lose a lot of really nice people (and one extremely cute elf named Dobby) along the way. In the end you will win, have a lot of really awesome friends, and marry your best friend’s sibling. So…sign me up!

1) High School Musical

Ok, this movie tells us that whether you’re a nerd, a drama queen (or king), a star athlete, or anything in between, you WILL randomly break out in song and dance…a lot! Also, no matter what you are awesome at, you will have a completely opposite talent that you are just as awesome at. But, the biggest lie that this movie taught us, is that if you go to high school like you’re suppose too, then you will get Zac Efron…there was no Zac Efrons at my high school (biggest disappointment ever!). Also there are no epic song and dance number at most high school graduations…don’t you just feel cheated (we were NOT all in this together).

Monday Memos: Top 5 Halloween Candy…gotta love a holiday that is so sweet!

Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘Monday Memos’ we are going to talk about one of our favorite events of the year…Halloween! And what makes Halloween so amazing you ask? Well besides the costumes, cool movies on TV, and haunted houses. The main thing that makes Halloween so much fun can be summed up in two words HALLOWEEN CANDY. Now even though you can have candy any time, for some reason Halloween candy always tastes just a little better (you know it does…don’t pretend you don’t steal, I mean “save” a few bags of candy that suddenly are “misplaced” the next day. So since candy is an awesome and very important part of our childhood (and possibly even longer if you happen to be that teen or 20 something year old who plans to go in your Olaf costume, #nojudgement), I thought that we could rank our Top 5 favorite Halloween candy. Please let me know if I miss any of YOUR favs. So, let the sugar rush begin!

5) Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups

You have to love a candy that combines chocolate and peanut butter. Never since jelly has peanut butter found such a perfect companion in an edible form. Another great thing about this candy is they’re small so you can easily take them with you on the go, and snack on them during your 2nd and 3rd nap during math class (remember you gotta keep your strength up between naps).

4) M&M’s

Now we move on to a candy that has produced some of our fav commercials. I mean who doesn’t love those cute little talking M&M’s! You have the grumpy red one, the sweet yellow one, and the sassy green one. You gotta love a candy that has personality! Also again this candy also has the benefit of being portable so you will never be hangry again (sometimes coffee just isn’t enough). Anddd M&M’s are educational, for example: if you have 3 bags of M&M’s and you eat 2 then you now have 1 bag of M&M’s…see you do use math in real life, now reward yourself with a bag of M&M’s, internet high five!

m&ms 2

3) Halloween Peeps:

This is the first year I’ve ever seen Peeps the shape of ghosts and other Halloween characters, and all I have to say about this is…IT’S ABOUT TIME!!!! I mean you get the deliciousness of peeps, with the fun of Halloween. Ok let’s think about this for a second. This candy is a marshmallow covered in sugar…sounds like a recipe for happiness to me. And the bonus is in a few months Easter is back, which means…MORE PEEPS! You gotta love your peeps.

2) Candy Corn

Now y’all knew that we had to include this one on our list because honestly Halloween without candy corn is like Thanksgiving without the Turkey, Christmas without Santa, Friday without Rebecca Black (yes I know that joke was corny but you loved it). And again this candy has the word ‘corn’ in it, so that must mean that it’s part vegetable and thus healthy for you, so you would actually be hurting yourself by not eating it. Yup, that argument might just work.

And Now!!!!!!!!!

1) Snickers:

Yes we have to crown this candy as our #slayqueen of the candy. I mean you have a beautiful marriage of chocolate, caramel, and you can argue that the peanuts in it make it healthy so that means you can have double the serving right? Right! Another great thing about this candy is it is the perfect companion for when you sit alone in the corner scared out of your mind because you watched a Pretty Little Liars marathon at 2:00 in the morning with the lights turned off. You gotta love that comfort food.
