Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘Monday Memos’ we are jumping into fall fashion. This week is the official kickoff for the fall season, so that means that it’s time to bring back all of those fall clothes that we wait all year to wear. This time around I decided to make three categories for the looks. The categories are a girly look, a casual look, and a mixed bag look (which is a combination of the previous two looks with a few other style thrown in). Some of the looks have staple pieces that you can reuse so that means you save money and can buy more clothes (yay!!!). Please let me know what you think, and if I miss any awesome pieces then let me know in the comments below. Ready? Ok, let’s go!!!
Tokyo Darling Sheer Oversized Dolman Sweater from Aeropostale:
Now I know in a lot of places it may till be too hot to wear a sweater, but this sweater is sheer so it’s more lightweight, and it’s easy to transition into winter so I think it’s a good investment piece. Also, the color is a little more lively then the typical fall colors that we see, but it’s not a bright hue so it feels like a fall color.
One of the great things about fall is that it can start to get a little cold, but it’s still warm enough to wear summer/spring pieces. I love pairing a summery fashion skirt with a warmer denim jacket or long-sleeved shirt. It can be a lot of fun to play with accessories and transition these pieces into looks you can wear in the fall. I like this skirt because it’s an easy color and pattern to accessories because it’s not to bright or busy.
Speaking of accessories, I absolutely fell in love with these socks because their comfy, warm, and the little bow on the top is too adorable for words. These socks are perfect to warm up any skirt or dress, and definitely make you feel like fall is in the air.
Tall Lace-Up Combat Boots from Wet Seal:
Ok now we al know that fall is the time where we bring back some of our favorite thing like: Pumpkin Spice Lattes, holidays were we eat way more food than we’ll admit, and tall combat boots! These boots are not only cute, but they will warm up any dress/skirt, and are in a color that I neutral enough, that you can practically wear it with anything.
Chain Event Crossbody Bag from Wet Seal:
I really like this bag because it’s very simple but not boring. White is a great color to add a little something special to any outfit. A crossbody is a really great way to go with a bag, because you don’t have to worry about the bag bothering you as you walk or go through your day so you gotta love accessorizes that cooperate with us.
If you want to look cute but not have to actually try, then a statement tee is perfect because the catchy saying on the shirt can serve as its’ own accessory. Personally I love long sleeved tees for the fall because if it’s hot you can roll your sleeves up to cool down, and if it’s cold then you can leave your sleeves down to warm up (it’s a win for everyone).
Refuge Hi-Waist Super Skinny Colored Jeans from Charlotte Russe:
Ok let’s admit it, skinny jeans are a fall staple, and the perfect way to wear jeans that are comfortable (at least as comfortable as you can be in skinny jeans) while still looking like you didn’t grab the first thing you saw in your closet. I am so in love with these wine colored jeans because the color is beautiful for fall, and colored skinny jeans always add some extra flair to an outfit.
Tribal Print Tassel Tote Bag from Forever 21
Ok now I know that tribal print is usually more of a summer thing, but it’s a piece that most people probably already own, and a bag like this should go with a lot of different looks so it’s easy to accessorize. Bonus points, totes can usually carry a lot of stuff, so if you’re always on the go then you can carry all of life’s necessities with you (yesssss!).
Knit Cuff Faux Leather Combat Boots from Wet Seal:
Ok now I will admit that I’m really obsessed with boots so that’s why there are so many in this lookbook. Now it might still be a little to warm to wear these in a lot of places, but there will be perfect later in the fall/winter season so they’re a good investment (and the faux fur inside means that they will feel AMAZING on your feet!
Mixed Bag Look:
Tokyo Darling Long Sleeve Checkered Woven Tunic from Aeropostale:
With this look, I wanted to find pieces that you could use in multiple ways and a plaid shirt is perfect for that. You can dress it up for a more preppy or girly look, or you can dress it down for a grunge inspired look. This type of shirt can also be used all year so it can easily become a staple piece.
Another staple piece that EVERYONE has are ripped jeans. This isn’t a piece that you can really dress up, but you can either use them to go for a super grunge look, or a more casual look which lets your jeans take center stage without you having to really try. I really like these particular jeans because the splatter on the denim makes the jeans look really cool (just a little side note).
Faux Suede Lace-Up Booties from Wet Seal:
I know I know, none of you are surprised that there are more boots in this lookbook but in my defense…boots are really cute (yeah I know it’s not a great defense). What I like about these particular boots is that they can be used all year long, and they are an easy way to dress up any outfit. Whether you’re wearing a dress or a t-shirt and jeans, these boots ill work their magic.
Oversized Studded Tote Bag from Charlotte Russe:
Now this is a pretty standard type of bag, the color is very neutral so it can be your go to bag, and you can keep everything you need in it. I love the studs because they add just a little edge to a casual outfit, without being to overpowering.
Hello people of the internet!!! In honor of the beginning of everyone’s favorite season (summer!), I thought that it would be fun to discuss our ‘2015 Summer Lookbook’. This time around we have 3 looks, with various expensive and inexpensive pieces that you can use throughout the season. No matter what your style is, or what you may be doing this summer, there should definitely be some pieces here that you can utilize. Before we start let’s hear a quick word from Olaf
I know that was cheesy, but I had to do it. Ready to move on to the lookbook? Ok, let’s go!
Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘Monday Memos’ we are going to discuss fall fashion! About 3 weeks ago, I posted a fall look book full of fun outfits for the fall season (here’s a link to that post Monday Memos: 2014 Fall Lookbook | celindareyesblog). The look book was posted in celebration of the beginning of fall, so I thought to follow that up today with some fall essentials that EVERYBODY needs to have. I featured items in this post that I actually own or just really really love, so remember that you can substitute any items for something similar. Hope y’all enjoy the post!!!
5) Leggings/Jeggings: Destroyed Jeggings – Long from Wet Seal
Personally I wish we could just wear sweatpants 24/7 but they say you’re not “suppose to”, so leggings and jeggings can often be a good alternative if you want to combine style and comfort. I really liked these jeggings form Wet Seal because they have the cool destroyed element that will instantly add an edge to any outfit. I think that the destroyed look on jeans/jeggings will always be cool, so you definitely won’t go wrong with adding these to your wardrobe.
4) Skincare: Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment from Sephora
For a lot of people, the changing weather can mean changes in your skin, so I HIGHLY suggest this product from the AMAZING Kate Someville. I absolutely love this product because it makes your skin feel really clean, smooth, and just completely renewed and refreshed. It’s a little pricey but I definitely think it’s worth it.
3) Bag: BLOTTIE fringe from Steve Madden (this is currently available for pre-order as of October 11, 2014)
It doesn’t matter what season it is, you always have to have 1 (or several fun bags to add the perfect finishing touch to your outfit). The added aspect of the fringe adds a boho vibe to the outfit that will definitely make you stand out this fall season. My absolute FAVORITE part of the bag is the inner lining (which you can’t see in this picture). Why is the inner lining my favorite part you may ask, well…the pattern of the inner lining is zebra!!! I am completely obsessed with zebra print because it’s fun, and this is an easy way to have that element without having to commit to a wild pattern.
2) Cardigans: Ribbed Knit Dolman Cardigan from Forever 21
I really love cardigans during the fall because it’s usually cool enough to throw on a cardigan in the evening or just for a fun touch to an outfit. I really love this cardigan because it’s gray (which is going to be HUGE this fall…but don’t worry it comes in more colors), and it has a cool lace like underlining that extends past the length of the cardigan. I think that the underlining gives the piece a very famine touch that will instantly dress up any outfit (perfect for those days when you just don’t feel like making an effort…yes we’re all familiar with those types of days).
Finally we get to one of the most important items to have in your closet…a really cute boot! I love this boot because it’s cute, it has a fun high heel for all of you that don’t trip over your own feet (unfortunately I am not one of those people who always has the whole coordination thing figured out), and it has a fur lining on the inside (I’m pretty sure about this but I haven’t gotten a chance to look at the product in person). I love that this boot is just so incredibly cute, and the perfect girly touch to any outfit. This is also a boot that you could use for work (dependent of course on where you work) or school.
Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘Monday Memos’, we are going to discuss everyone’s FAVORITE part of coming into a new season…NEW FASHION!!! Since today is officially the first day of fall (aka when you can officially start binging on pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks), I thought that this was the perfect opportunity to do a ‘fall fashions’ blog post. Now I know that weather conditions vary depending on where you live, so I’m going to try to show y’all outfits that will keep you toasty, but aren’t boiling hot (you can alter it depending on what the weather is like in your neighborhood). I also tried to make these outfits school/parent approved. Hope y’all enjoy!
While I hope y’all enjoyed the looks! Remember that if it’s colder where you live then you can always add a cardigan or jacket, and if it’s hotter, you can substitute shorts or tank tops/short sleeved shirts. Have a fun fall people of the internet!!!
Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘Monday Memos’ we are going to discuss BACK TO SCHOOL OUTFITS (yes I know that for some of you, THIS is the only good thing about going back to school)!!! Now as always, I am going to show y’all 3 different looks that should cover a wide range of styles. I am also going to try to edit the looks to comply with most school dress codes, but if your school’s dress codes are more/less strict then you can alter the looks accordingly. Also, remember that fashion is suppose to be fun, so don’t be afraid to combine pieces from each of the look to achieve something that reflects your personality. I didn’t add any accessories or makeup/hairstyle looks for these outfits, but you can add your own style with each of these, In order to make the look feel more you. Ok, now let’s get into the blog!!!
Crochet High-Neck Chiffon Top from Wet Seal:
I really like this top because it’s loose and lightweight, so if the weather is still warm or hot where you live, then this top won’t make you sweat off all your makeup. I also liked the lace high neck on it, because it’s very feminine and cute, but is not revealing (the LAST thing you need is to start off the school year grounded or suspended…you’re welcome!).
Textured Faux Leather Jacket from Forever 21:
I chose this jacket because it’s cute and adds just a touch of edge to this very girly look. I know that a lot of school dress codes don’t allow students to wear tops without sleeves, so you can either add or remove the jacket depending on your school’s dress codes.
Faux Suede Oxfords from Forever 21:
I really loved these shoes for school because their cute, a little preppy, and most importantly COMFOTABLE! Seriously we all know that you often have to sacrifice comfort for style, so this is a fun alternative to heels, wedges, and flats.
Pink High-Waisted Jeggings from The Bethany Mota Collection exclusively at Aéropostale:
Of course we have to have a piece from one of our favorite internet fashion gurus, Bethany Mota! I really love Bethany’s clothing line, because she has a lot of fun pieces that can become staple pieces in your wardrobe. I thought that these jeggings added a cool pop of color to the outfit that will make you feel like it’s still summer, even when you’re trapped in a classroom or lecture hall.
Floral and Faux Leather Backpack from Icing
I really loved this backpack because it’s cute, and is perfect for any season. The faux leather also gives your outfit a “grown up” feel, so you don’t look overly girly or young with a completely floral backpack.
Sweetheart Tube Skater Dress from Wet Seal
I really love this dress because it loose and flowy, which is perfect if it’s still hot where you live. It is also a perfect blend of girly and casual, so it’s perfect to dress up or down.
Plaid Shirt from Forever 21
Now for this look I really wanted to embrace the plaid trend that everyone loves by pairing a plaid shirt over this dress, to give it a very casual vibe. Also, since the dress might not be in accordance to dress code, the plaid shirt covers it up, and makes it dress code perfect.
Marvel Comics Combat Boots from Wet Seal
I completely fell in love with these boots when I saw them, because who doesn’t love the Marvel superheroes. These felt like the perfect touch to make this look a little more quirky and unique (you can also wear black combat boots if you want a more rocker vibe to your outfit).
Mustache with Glasses Backpack from Amazon
Lastly, I really liked this backpack because it’s fun and will definitely make any outfit you pair it with have a very unique feel. What I really love most about this backpack though is that it is so cute and unique that you could even wear it with an outfit outside of the classroom (and c’mon, how cool is that!?!).
Little Mermaid Tank Top from Wet Seal
I just had to include this tank top because it’s the cutest thing ever! I mean who doesn’t love the little mermaid? Anyway, I loved that this top is really colorful and comfortable for those days when you roll out of bed and don’t feel like thinking about your outfit (which if you’re like me, is everyday).
Floral Kimono from Wet Seal
Personally I really love Kimonos because they’re fun, comfortable, trendy, comfortable, have the ability to make any top school appropriate, and oh yeah, comfortable (I know I’ve said that a lot but comfort is a big thing for me).
Straight Regular Blue Jeans from H&M
Now if you’re looking for comfort, what’s better than a classic pair of jeans. This piece is classic, comfortable, and makes any outfit look more put together, os you really don’t have to worry about styling it.
All Black Converse Sneakers from Journey’s
Now here is a piece that takes the classic look and comfort of a sneaker, but makes it a little cooler. I personally love converse sneakers because they are comfortable and add a laid back, classic look to your outfit. I think that wearing sneakers are a great way to go on the first day of school, because you might do a lot of walking to find your classes, and it’s just easier on your feet, and one less thing you have to stress over.
White Polka Dot Jansport Backpack from Target
I love this backpack because it’s fun but not over the top (just in case that’s not your thing). Also, the fact that it’s white allows it to easily match just about any outfit, or if you’re a little more creative, you can customize it with stickers, draw on it, anything you want really (you gotta love a backpack that gives you options).
