YouTube Wednesday: The Top 3 Christmas Covers of 2015

Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘YouTube Wednesday’ we’re going to talk about everyone’s favorite part of Christmas…the Christmas-music 2015music! It’s always so much fun to hear our favorite Christmas songs covered by amazing artists, so I thought that it would be fun to countdown ‘The Top 3 Christmas Covers of 2015’. One of these covers isn’t from an actual YouTube artist, but it was so amazing that I just had to include it. So now let’s get to the music! Ready? Ok, let’s go!!!
3) ‘Silent Night – Jason Chen x Marie Digby x Ana Free’:
The first cover that we’re going to talk about is Jason Chen, Marie Digby, and Ana Free’s cover of Silent Night. This is a true Christmas classic that has been covered by numerous artists, but never gets old. I really love his cover because we get to experience 3 amazing vocalists who are able to show us a unique rendition of this song that you will definitely not forget.

2) All I Want For Christmas Is You – MINOR KEY! Kurt Hugo Schneider ft. Chase Holfelder’:
Ok I have to admit that I’m soooo obsessed with this cover, and trust me after listening to it you will be too! If you have heard any of Kurt Hugo Schneider’s covers then you know that he makes beautiful and brilliant musical arrangements, however this has to be one of his best ideas ever. ‘All I Want For Christmas is You’ is already an amazing song that we all love, but performing the entire song in a minor key gives the song a hauntingly beautiful quality that will have you pressing that replay button again and again.

1) ‘Mary Did You Know – Cover by Jordan Smith’:

Now we’ve reached the #1 spot! Although Jordan isn’t a YouTuber, I couldn’t resist putting this INCREDIBLE cover on the list. This rendition not only shows off Jordan’s amazing talent and range as a vocalist, but also shows us that he is a true entertainer that can instantly mesmerize his audience. As soon as you see this incredible cover you will seriously want to hop over to iTunes and buy it because it is so insanely beautiful. The only thing that you will be left wondering after hearing this cover is how is he going to top this amazing performance. I know we all can’t wait to see!

YouTube Wednesday: Keegan Acton…the new beauty/fashion guru that YouTube is obsessing over

Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘YouTube Wednesday’ we’re going to talk about an incredible YouTuber who you will soon bekeegan acton addicted to. It can be really hard for a YouTuber to distinguish themselves because of all of the competition from the other great channels on the website. Once you see Keegan’s videos, it’s easy to figure out that she definitely stands out from the crowd. Not only is she knowledgeable about all of the topics that she discusses on her channel, but she’s also very entertaining to watch, has a natural on-camera presence, and she is able to engage her audience from the start of the video to the end. If you’re not already subscribed to her channel then you are definitely missing out. So please read on to discover the YouTuber that all your friends already love. Ready? Ok, let’s go!!!

The first video that we’re going to talk about is Keegan’s ‘Sephora and Charlotte Russe’ haul, which was uploaded on June 6th, 2013 (you can check out this video below). This video is the perfect introduction to Keegan’s channel because it shows us that she’s a natural born entertainer who can not only mesmerize her audience, but also leave them wanting to keep coming back to see more. I also love that this video is a haul because we get a glimpse at what Keegan’s personal style is like, which is a great way for her to connect with her audience. Next up we have her ‘First Impression | Nume Octo Wand’ video, which was uploaded on December 26th, 2013. First impression videos are great because we get to see what our fav YouTubers really think about a product without worrying that they’re just trying to get us to buy the product. In this video Keegan shows that she’s really good at reviewing products because she gives a very detailed review that tells us why the product is great, but does so in a way that allows us to figure out if this is the product for us.

Now we’re going to talk about Keegan’s ‘ My Braces Experience | EVERYTHING You Need To Know About Braces’ video, which was uploaded on March 17th, 2014. I think that one of the best things about YouTube is that we really get to know our favorite YouTubers in a way that makes us feel as if they’re our best friends. This video is a perfect example of that, because through this video Keegan is able to connect with all of her viewers who have braces, or will get braces in the near future. This is a MUST SEE video if you fall into either of these categories because Keegan is very detailed when she explains the process of getting braces put on, taken off, and everything in between. The final video that we’re going to discuss today is Keegan’s ‘ iPhone Case Collection 2015’ video, which was uploaded on June 22nd, 2015 (you can check out this video below). Personally I love watching iPhone case collections because you get to see some really cool cases and learn where to get them (gotta have more stuff to add to that letter to Santa). In this video we not only get to see some really cute phone cases (I seriously want all of them), but we once again get a glimpse into what Keegan’s personal style is, and how it has evolved. I really wish that I could have written about all of her videos because they’re all AMAZING, so I would definitely check out this channel if you want to give yourself an early Christmas present.

This video really gives you a good idea of Selena’s personality and will instantly make you addicted to her channel. It’s definitely a lot of fun to see what our fav YouTubers have in their bags because it can give us advice on good products to buy/carry with us. The next video that we’re going to talk about is Selena’s ‘Fitness Routine 2015’ video, which was uploaded on February 8th, 2015. With all of the food and fun we have during the holiday season, a good workout routine is a must! If you don’t have the time to go to the gym, then this is the video for you. These workouts are effective and can be completed in under 30 minutes so they’re the perfect thing to do between Netflix binges.

Now we’re going to move on to Selena’s ‘American Tries British Candy’ video (which you can check out below). This is a really fun video because it’s interesting to see people react to new things, and there’s candy in the video. After watching this video you’ll definitely want to check out some of the awesome candy they have across the pond. The last video that we’re going to talk about is Selena’s ‘Huge Black Friday Haul 2016’, which was uploaded on November 27th, 2015. Y’all know that I love hauls because you get to see interesting OOTD ideas that you may have never seen before, and you get the thrill of shopping without actually having to spend all of you money (gotta save up that money for Pumpkin Spice everything…priorities people priorities). What’s extra awesome about Black Friday hauls, is that you get a good idea of what stores usually have the best sales, so you can properly plan for next year’s sales. Gotta love an entertaining video that’s also educational (or least that’s the excuse we’ll use to watch it over and over again).

If you don’t like working out (or even if you do) then you HAVE to read on. Ready? Ok, let’s go!!!

The first video that we’ve going to talk about is Jessica’s workout video to Iggy Azalea’s hit song  ‘Fancy’ feat. Charli XCX, which was uploaded on June 25th, 2014. This is a really fun introductory video for this channel, because you get a small taste of the fun, heart pounding workouts that you’ll get on this channel. The moves in this workout are not hard to replicate, and are a great starting point for someone who wants to get into shape, but doesn’t like to workout. I mean who doesn’t love to dance right? Right! The next video that we’re going to talk about is Jessica’s workout video to Fifth Harmony feat Kid Ink’s high energy song ‘Worth It’, which was uploaded on May 15th, 2015 (you can check out the video below). This is another fun video that will definitely get you moving! In this video Jessica shows us a full body workout set to this song, that will have you replaying this video over and over. The best thing about the moves in this video is you can learn them and then add them to just about any upbeat song, and get a hard workout that’s a little different everytime. It’s definitely worth a look!

Next up we have Silento’s viral hit ‘Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)’, which was uploaded on June 30th, 2015 (you can check out the video below). Now this is a song that everyone has had on repeat, and a dance that we all love to do. In this video Jessica incorporates the moves from the song, in a high cardio impact routine. If you love Zumba and/or dance that’s set to modern music then you’ll really get into this video. Also, one of the best things about this (and all of the other videos on this channel), is that you get a tough, high energy workout in under 5 minutes, you gotta love that. The last video that we’re going to talk about is Jessica’s workout video set to Miranda Lambert’s song Somethin’ Bad feat. Whether you use these videos as a warm-up, or they are you whole workout, you will certainly have a fun time on this channel. YouTube Wednesday: Jesse-Jane McParland, the little girl with a seriously terrifying talent

Hello people of the Internet!!! On today’s ‘YouTube Wednesday’ we’re going to talk about an AMAZING new video that’s going aroundimage YouTube. If you haven’t heard of mini martial arts expert Jesse Jane McParland then prepare to have your mind blown. At only 10 years old Jesse is a world kickboxing champion, and already has 117 martial arts titles to her name (seriously impressive!). So please keep reading and prepare to be completely amazed. Ready? Ok, let’s go!!!

Jesse made a huge impact on the world when she competed on the reality T.V. show ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ in early 2015. She ended up placing 8th in the competition, but definitely became a fan favorite throughout her time on the show. A few days ago a YouTube video of Jesse competing at the 2015 World Championship Kickboxing tournament surfaced on YouTube, and once again we got to see how awesome she is. Jesse did some really cool routines with a sword that you just HAVE to check out in the video below. Needless to say this isn’t the last time that Jesse will amaze us with her martial arts skills. With a future of endless possibilities one thing is for certain, you definitely don’t want to mess with this girl.

YouTube Wednesday: Tay Watts…the artist that you will be obsessing over this fall

Hello people of the Internet!!! On today’s ‘YouTube Wednesday we are going to talk about an incredible new artist that you will all have tay watts blogon repeat this fall. If you haven’t heard of Tay Watts then plug your headphone in and prepare for to have your mind blown. Tay will definitely make a mark on the music industry very soon, so keep reading so you can say that you discovered his awesomeness first. Ready? Ok, let’s go!!!

The first video that we’re going to talk about is Tay’s cover of ‘Take Your Time’ by Sam Hunt, which was uploaded on February 17th, 2015 (you can check out this video below). I chose this one because I really love how we not only get a great introduction to Tay’s vocal skills, but also his talents as a guitarist and rapper. He also shows us that he has the charisma and natural stage presence to grab his audience’s attention and keep it from the first note to the last. The next video that we’re going to talk about is Tay’s rendition of ‘The Reason’ by Hoobastank, which was uploaded on April 3rd, 2015. What I love most about this cover, is that we are able to see how well Tay is able to perform with other artists. In this cover, Tay is able to perfectly blend his voice with fellow YouTubers Jake Coco & Corey Gray (who we’ve spoken about in a previous blog post here: YouTube Wednesday: Corey Gray…the singer/songwriter whose music is the best Christmas present you’ll get this year). The ability to perform with multiple other artists is an invaluable skill to have, that proves that Tay is a true professional.

Next up we have Tay’s cover of ‘House Party’ by Sam Hunt, which was uploaded on July 22nd, 2015. The reason why I chose this video is because this cover shows us that not only can Tay handle the difficulty of portraying the emotions behind a ballad, but he can also rock out. It’s very important for a musician to be able to control the mood of an audience, because this shows that you are not only a vocalist, but a true artist. Tay proves through this cover that he has the artist depth to make us feel any emotion he chooses. The final cover that we’re going to talk about is Tay’s rendition of ‘The Way You Make Me Feel’ by Michael Jackson, which was uploaded on September 17th, 2015 (you can check out this video below). Now this is an EXTREMELY difficult artist to cover because of the intense vocal and artistic that Michael Jackson was able to engrave in each of his songs. Tay does an amazing job of truly showing off his musical chops in this performance by not only paying tribute to Michael Jackson’s original vision of the song, but by also adding in his own personal touches that shows us who he is as an artist. This cover will give you all the feels.

We’re VERY close to October 31st, so if you don’t already have your Halloween costume ready then these videos will help you out. Most of the videos don’t involve too much extra work, except #1 which involves some sewing. So now let’s get to the costumes! Ready? Ok, let’s go!!!

3) The first video that we’re going to talk about is the ’30 Last-minute DIY Halloween Costume Ideas’ by CloeCouture, which was uploaded on October 25th, 2014. I really loved this video because it is such a cool and creative video. Most of the costumes are made up of stuff you can either buy or make easily, and there are so many costumes in the video that I’m sure you’ll find something that you’ll fall in love with. Whether you want your costume this year to look cute, unique, or you want to look like your favorite TV/movie/book character or pop culture figure, you’ll find the PERFECT costume for you. Also, the video is EXTREMELY entertaining to watch, so it’s definitely one you don’t want to miss!

2) Next up we have the ‘DIY Last Minute Easy & Cheap Halloween Costume Ideas for Teens’ by Alexa Mae video, which was uploaded on October 16th, 2015. Alexa is a YouTuber that we’ve spoken about before (you can check out that blog post here:YouTube Wednesday: Alexa Mae…the new YouTuber that you will spend your whole spring break obsessing over), and this video just continues to prove what an amazing guru she has become. In this video she shows us how to easily make 3 costumes that will be perfect for anyone who wants a unique/cute look this Halloween. My personal favorite is the popcorn costume, but they’re all AMAZING so definitely check this one out.

1) ‘DIY “THE DRESS”/DRESSGATE HALLOWEEN COSTUME’ by TheSorryGirls, which was uploaded on October 15th, 2015. Ok y’all it’s back, THE DRESS. You know the dress that divided the internet, and haunted our nightmares for weeks, yup that dress. YouTube Wednesday: 3 videos that will help you freak everyone out this Halloween

Hello people of the internet!!! On today’s ‘YouTube Wednesday’ we are going to do something a little different. I thought that since it’s almost Halloween (Yay!!!!), we could talk about 3 amazing makeup tutorial videos that will help you add that special finishing touch to your costume this year. These videos vary in difficulty, but I would definitely give the looks a test run before Halloween (also make sure that you’re not allergic or have any sensitivity to any of the makeup/wax/etc. that the looks may need). I tried to rate these depending on how difficult the look is to replicate (even though the last two are about equal in terms of difficulty). Now let’s get to the looks. Ready? Ok, let’s go!!!

3) ‘CLAW WOUND SFX Makeup Tutorial’ by Kait Nichole, which was uploaded on October 12th, 2015. I thought that this would be a good video to kick things off with because it’s a cool way to really make any costume stand out. This look is very detailed so you will have to take your time with this one if you want it to look amazing however, it might be easier to do than the other two looks because it’s on the arm and not the face. In this video Kait does an INCREDIBLE job of explaining exactly how to replicate this wound, so I would definitely give it a try.

2) ‘Reptile Ringmaster Circus Freak Halloween Makeup Tutorial’ by Jordan Hanz, which was uploaded on October 12th, 2015 (I didn’t notice until after I chose the videos that this video and the claw wound video were uploaded on the same day. That’s kind of cool right?). As soon as I saw this look I just completely fell in love with how awesome it is. Now this look is also very detailed so again you have to have patience, but the payoff for the work looks to incredible for words. If you want a unique look that will definitely be Instagram worthy then this is a look to consider. Jordan does a really great job of explaining every step, so even though this may look a little intimidating, just follow her instructions and you’ll look AMAZING.

1) ‘Trippy Double Vision Makeup Look’ by dope2111, which was uploaded on September 17th, 2015. Like I said before, it was EXTREMELY hard to pick a winner for the #1 and #2 spots, but because this is a REALLY different sort of Halloween look, it won. I know that A LOT of you have probably already seen this video, but if you really want a look that will freak out your friends then this is the way to go. This is another look that takes patience to replicate because you want it to look as real as possible. The process is explained so well in this video, so I would definitely give this tutorial a shot. This is a really good look to show off your creativity, because you can build a scary or cute look around it, but still get the creepy factor in either way.

Ok, let’s go!!!

The first video that we’re going to discuss is Jade’s ‘Spring Look Book – 2014’ video, which was uploaded on April 13th, 2014. I thought that this was the perfect video to kick things off with because it gives us a glimpse at what Jade’s personal style is like. This video also can give you A LOT of inspiration for cool spring time outfits, that will definitely get you more Instagram likes. This video is very well done, and will definitely give you an idea of what’s to come. Next up we have her ‘Halloween Make Up Tutorial 2014’, which was uploaded on October 19th, 2014 (you can check out the video below). Now once October hits we see A LOT of Halloween makeup tutorials. Even though it’s really fun to play with makeup and hair and recreate our favorite TV/movie/book characters, sometimes we want to create a look that feels like “Halloween”, without fully committing to dressing up. In this video Jade shows us how o create a very cool grunge look, that will help you feel like your participating in Halloween without actually “dressing up”. Definitely a fun alternative if you’re looking for something different this Halloween,

Now let’s move on to Jade’s ‘How To Long Hair Routine’, which was uploaded on July 4th, 2015. This is a video that you’re going to want to add to your hair care playlists right now. One of the bad things about the weather changing, is that we have a larger chance of hair & skin damage, so you have to change up your routine a little to save yourself from weather hazards. I really loved this routine because Jade tells us exactly what we have to do in order to achieve this articular look, so if you want to change up your hair care routine, or you don’t have a routine, then this is the video for you. Ok, the final video that we’re going to talk about is Jade’s ‘Primark Haul Autumn 2015’, which was uploaded on October 4th, 2015 (you can check out the video below). Now y’all know that we have to include a haul, because haul’s are amazing! I thought that this was a good video to end this post with because in the 1st video that we talked about, we got to get a sense of what Jade’s style is, in this video we get to see how her style has evolved. Knowing this is really important, because it will make you feel more connected to Jade, and we all know that we love to feel like our fav YouTubers are our best friends. In this video we continue to see Jade’s natural on-camera talent, and the personality and knowledge about beauty/fashion, that will make you fall in love with her channel all over again. The growth that we see from the 1st video to this video, will definitely leave you excited for what’s to come on this channel.

If you’ve never heard of Anthem Lights then you NEED to keep reading because this amazing bands and covers will instantly hook you from the first note. This band has the amazing ability to cover a wide variety of songs from different genres, and still make each cover sound unique, but also keeps the original vibe that originally made the song a hit. Anthem Lights is a Christian pop/rock band that currently has 379,301 subscribers and over 64 million total channel views on YouTube, and over 72,000 Twitter followers, so if you don’t want to miss out on the music industry’s next big thing then keep reading to learn all about this band’s awesome music. Ready? Ok, let’s go!!!

The first video that we’re going to talk about is Anthem Lights’ cover of ‘This I Promise You’ by ‘NSYNC, which was uploaded on February 5th, 2013. I thought that this was an awesome cover to kick things off with because it allows each of the guys in the band to show off their amazing vocal skills. This cover is also a good example of this band’s phenomenal ability to take a song that we love, add the special Anthem Lights touch, and make the song feel like your listening to it for the first time. Next up we have Anthem Lights’ mash-up of the ‘2014 K-Love Fan Awards: Songs of the Year’ nominees, which was uploaded on March 11th, 2014 (you can check out below). This video is so incredible that you’re going to definitely replay it over and over. In this cover, Anthem lights takes multiple Contemporary Christian hits from the 2014 voting year, and combines all of the songs to create a memorable, entertaining video that fans will love (they have also released a 2015 edition so I would check that out too).

Now we’re going to talk about Anthem Lights cover of ‘Drops of Jupiter’ by Train, which was uploaded on March 11th, 2014. This can be a really difficult cover for an artist to pull off because it’s a very popular song, and is still a favorite among Train’s fan base. Once again Anthem Lights does an incredible job of making this song their own without changing what we originally loved about the song. Their vocals of this cover are so perfect that they instantly captivate you, and leave you mesmerized from beginning to end. The last video that we’re going to talk about is one of Anthem Lights’ original songs. It was extremely hard for me to pick just 3 covers to talk about (because all of their covers are amazing), so it was even more difficult to pick just 1 original song to write about I decided to pick a track off of their 2014 album ‘Escape’. Although I really loved all of the songs off of the album, I decided to go with the song ‘Top of the World’, because it’s a fun, energetic song that’s perfect to blast in the car. This song is a MUST HAVE on all of your playlists! The music video for this song was uploaded on YouTube on October 6th, 2014, and is just as fun and zany as the song itself (you can check out the video below). This video will definitely keep you entertained, and anxiously waiting to see what Anthem Lights releases next.
